What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Ian, is that pic of the red one from out at Bridgeport or out at Dennis' old place?

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I aired up all four tires today. Been a couple months since I did it last. Man it's a lot easier to steer when all are at 33 lbs again! I was running less than ten in most of them!

My Jeep is finally setting level again... : )

RE 4.5" with 2 " shackles and RE 5.5" coils with spacers and TNT long arms..in all Im setting at 7" front and rear... Now need to get new shocks.. and new front brake lines...

You weren't in Lawton, OK a couple weeks ago were ya? I saw an XJ that was pretty close to that one up there recently.

Dennis' ranch from way back in the day

33 psi? That's too much for 35s on an XJ. I only ran around 28 in my 35s. Have you chalked your tires to find the right pressure?

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

yeah, and the factory PSI seems to work well for them. IDK :dunno:

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Wired in my my new remote timer and solenoid for the glow plugs on the diesel engine on my 85 XJ!!! FINALLY!!!!! Only been a roundtoit for about 5 years, LOL.

And a few days ago installed a head light relay-wiring harness rig on the 89, and replaced yet another burned up head light switch at the same time, hopefully the last one. Nice pre-assembled harness, only $35.

Nope my jeep has never been out of Texas as of yet... When i get it Mechanically fit to leave i will head to hot springs.

I need to get new shocks... but before I can do that I need new/longer brake lines...
so I can flex with these new longarms... ugh it keeps adding up so freaking fast

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I think our chapter prez needs to shop for a new tailgate, and taillight, and....

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Tailgate yes but the taillights are fine

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Well yesterday I put a new muffler on my DD 89 Cherokee. And welded the heat shield back onto the top of the cat, it was rattling so bad I thought the cat was gone......lol

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Took my heap over to Swamprat's and we started on the simple quest of finding out why it stalls sometimes and why my lowbeams don't work. ADHD kicked in after I found yet another rat's nest of wires and traced them to wherever they went and ripped them out. Also ripped the radio out since it didn't work well. So what did have me curious was why a wire went from the positive terminal, split off to the oil sending unit, then went into a spliced wire on the driver side headlight, while the other half went through the firewall, then stepped up TWO gauges and went to whatever craptastic ham radio that was in the back. Anyways, not sure what the deal was, ripped it all out. Narrowed the lowbeam issue to the column switch, got them to work. Never found out why the Jeep stalls...Probably sit down and do the spark/no spark test later this week.
