What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I drove the beast, and ran out of stuff that HAD TO BE FIXED!!!! :repair:
Another day for the record books!

Holy chit! Now what broke today

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Drilled my knuckles out to 7/8" to install my serious steering... still need to remove the Pittman arm to drill it out, most of my day was just FINDING a damn 7/8" drill bit for metal. Plus I got new wheels and tires, 31 10.50 on 15x8's, all four with about 40% tread for $200.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Turning 31's requires serious steering.
I mostly got them for the wheels, 15x8. Besides- my steering has gotten pretty bad so I figured replace the tie-rod and drag-link, and if I'm gonna replace them, may as well be something beefy, right?

Started tearing sown my front end to put Ian's lift springs on but pretty much forgot all the other parts and penetrating oil. I am currently frustrated with my lack of fore sight and waiting for a drop pitman in the mail and going to look for spare suspension bolts at the scrap yard some time this week.

Thanks for letting me drop by and see what I need to prepare myself for. And yeah, something breaks, its a given. Tools, parts, fingers, something always does. Good times.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

yes, do tell Will......

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Just lame stuff for doing some much needed work: new ignition parts, new radiator, bored and rebuilt throttle body, new tbody sensors, new 02 sensors, new exhaust including cat, rebuilt and tapped for hydro steering box, bilstein 5100's, ome leafs, rest of parts for zj brake conversion, new carpet, new HU, new front hubs, new headlight harness, dom and brackets to do OTA trackbar, 5-90 battery cables, and um.....oh yeah, new rear bumps.

I think that's close to everything.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I could have built battery cables for you. You just never got back to me if you wanted some. Oh well next time....

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Sorry dude, totally forgot about you making them.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Finished my DirtBound offroad H'n'T SYE that I started yesterday. Never had any vibes, but still made a big difference in ride quality/noise.

Finished installing the lift springs, got a ghetto pre-runner now. Plan to make a bastard pack from the junkyard for the rear. Ordered the drop pitman, what other brackets etc should I be looking for for the front end? Wont be doing much other than farm jeeping for awhile. Getting some shock extensions and might look into limiting straps or something, the stock spring retaining clips aren't able to hold the wider coils.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Looks like I'm placing an order with Quadratec, got my various parts picked out, just waiting for some money to clear and then I'm hitting the buy button. Looks like I'm going to rock a 1.5-2in lift for now, until I can afford bigger tires. Meanwhile, start acquiring parts for the 4.5 lift with the help of Swamprat, so as soon as I have bigger tires, its on like donkey kong.
