What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

driveing home yesterday my DD died,98' XJ with 380,000+..no more workie...felt the same as when my 96' XJ died on me on way to work..(so jay came and pulled me home) .ahhaaa...was the same...coil went bad...replaced and fired right up....
My 96 has done that to me 3 times now. So I carry a spare in the back with me. A few minutes to change it out and im back on the road. Definitely annoying though.

My daily is almost out of gas so I checked to see how much gas I have left in my Jeep. Thank god I get paid tomorrow!

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Installed my 8.25 aussie finally yesterday. Inspected the outer bearings and seals and stuff. Found I was missing the 10mm bolt for the upper link over the pumpkin :skull2:Got that fixed.

jramey and I got together and pulled off my Rough Country 3" XJ front coils... he purchased them from me... (I will be helping him put them on his Jeep a little later)

THEN I met up with a local guy and Purchased a set of Rough Country 4.5" coils (RC9269) NEW IN THE BOX for only $50

I LOVE CRAIGS LIST

Got it inspected today and it passed.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

That looks.......not safe. I see the jackstands so I suppose that it's legit but still.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I'm glad someone else saw that too. I'm more worried about those blocks shooting across the garage. Hey at least the whole rig won't come crashing down. NOT trying to bash. These are just some things that need thought about.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I've used wooden blocks for jack spacers before, works well, cant say I've seen the stack-o-wood method though

always reminds me of this guy, and another one i cant find since my computer got tornadoed

I had to hunt looking for what was supporting the body, given the pass wheel is off then the second picture finished loading.

that's pretty much the same way i work on my rig. sometimes i use the bale spike or forks on our tractor to lift it up :shhh:

trying to score some 15" round telephone pole peices to set my next parts rig on

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Installed a new, modern radio, CD player with USB....and all the new wonders that go with it, and bought an MP3 player to go with it....Gave up my old friend,:( my antique cassette player!! It will missed (LOL)

Now I have real music again, and not radio talk BS on my 2 hour commutes.

Completed the 87 AW4 swap on my 4x4, and got the beast inspected, and road legal again today. This year was the last emissions inspection for it. It is now forever exempt in Texas from TDPS Gestapo emission tests!

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

installed my front shocks, had to press out my old bar pins and press them into the shocks... also installed some bayonet eliminators

installed new longer brake lines front and rear... also made new brake line mounts as the new brake lines did not have them

early 90s Chevy 1500 front brake lines and early 90s Dodge Dakota rear brake line

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

completely took apart the front half of my jeep, beat the hinges back towards the body (with mixed results) did some welding. and slapped it back together.

so thats one thing off my to do list

align doors - done!
fix rust spot
relocate battery
tidy up engine bay
find interior
make bumpers
