Bewildered and I installed half of my rock sliders. Too hot and tired from working on the first side to do the other. Even then, not all of the bolts that go through the frame are on since we don't know how to mark and drill accurately or something.

JCR Stage 2s. Hopefully I can get the other side on sometime during the week so I can take some better pictures.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Got my jeep back today. I had lent it to a local (DFW) shop wanting to do some XJ fab work. They built a front and rear bumper for my XJ.

I gotta say that I am VERY pleased with the results.
Here is a copule teaser shots, you can see more pics here:

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

On my 2000 I recently added drawer system in back for camping and a rollout for my Refigerator.

With the added weight I added Air Shocks today to help with the load especially when pulling the off road trailer.

Now I need to run good wiring to the rear for the DC refrigerator. I don't want to use cigarrette lighter type hookup so I'm looking for a good connection system maybe like some 30 amp Anderson Powerpole connectors but can't find anything here... guess I need to get on internet.

What if anything do you use for like high draw ampss? I want to be able to connect and disconnect rather easily but needs to hold pretty good current?

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Roger,
I know that O'riellys can get the Anderson style connectors. I am pretty sure Napa can to. A 30 Amp set up should work fine as long as that is what the DC fridge requires. The Anderson plugs can get rather big and bulky but done right should be out of the way enough not to matter. I am still outta work for a bit so hit me in either a PM or call me. I can get over there and give ya a hand.

Depending on the wire size requirements of the fridge the GM style weatherpac connectors may do the trick to.

new exhaust-2.5" from header back! No exhaust leaks now too...

New header and exhaust is on my list somewhere. Cracks everywhere!

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I finished my dual electric fan setup... it uses the stock A/C fan controlled by the computer, and a Taurus fan controlled by a relay and a Bosche 92c thermo switch (housed in a Volvo 900 cooling switch housing)

works really well so far... followed ehall's write up

I've got basically the same problem. It jumps up anytime I drive more than a mile at speeds of 40 plus. PIA. How old is your Stat? I need to try swapping mine out. Just got to get around to it.

mystery charging problem. Turn on AC, Alternator stops charging.

Mine was doing that. Turned out it was bad under load. I upgraded to the 130 amp alternator. Took some grinding of the mounting brackets, it's a fatty compared to the 90 amp stock alt. but it's not giving me any problems now!

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Replaced the radiator cap and thermostat. Kept dealing with weird temp spiking. I replaced the stat about 3 years ago with a Mr. Gasket high flow 180 deg one. I replaced it again today and took it for a drive that would have caused a overheat yesterday. So, I guessed it's fixed. We'll find out for sure when I drive in 100+ heat. That thermostat shouldn't have gone bad that quickly. Strange. Mr. Gasket used to be a good quality product. :(
