What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Drove mine around for a bit this morning. Going to try and get the passenger front brakeline and sliders installed this week. Then ill get inspection figured out.

Hopefully I can get offroad within the next month or two. I need to flex it out, measure for shocks, and bumpstop. Then get shocks... thinking some 5150s.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

front and rear transfer case output seals, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, oil filter adapter seal...

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Deals or not I think I would want my rig running befor sinking money into things not needed at the moment but that might just be me..... lol.

Have you tested thefuel pump you have first. You sure have thrown alot of money at this jeep for it not to be running yet. Has anyone come by to help you diag anything?

I'm going to call you in a few to give you a hand..

i dont want my wallet getting to fat, then it wont fit into my jeans.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

Installed JCR's rear lower qtr panel guards on the 87 (were a Bday gift so needed to install).

Moved the front speakers to the kick panels so I can have music when tube doors are installed.

Fixed the connection of the new speedo cable so now I can see just how slow I'm really going on the open road ;)

Checked all levels and such for upcoming trip to Moab :)

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I just cut a hole :) it's pretty obvious where you need to cut the once you have it off. I suppose I could have insulated or something for acoustics but I I'm not an officianado.

FYI, I bought a holesaw kit from Harbor Freight awhile ago and the largest one was almost perfect size and made it real easy.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I just fixed the horns on my Jeep... At least until the tires rub them off.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

rotated tires, fixed ( I hope) rear brakes, Repaired (or so I thought) leaky AC fitting, Re-installed battery tray, drove to Houston.

Went wheeling yesterday at katemcy. Good times.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

called USAA about an auto loan for a DD, either another subaru or a tow pig. which doesnt matter cause i was denied. :/ having no credit sucks

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

craigslist beaters ftw on the DD amigo.

Today i fixed my wiper motor, too off my old drivers side fender, straightened out the sheet metal mounting point in front, replaced one motor mount (sort of) and I HOPE finally fixed my power steering leak.

I also went through half a bottle of LA Awesome Orange De-greaser on the engine compartment cleaning under the air box and where the header panel bolts up.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

fixxed my jeep today, the wires on my fuel pump were backwards. the instructions showed everything backwards. and now i feel stupid.

Installed mine today. No hole saw, so I used my Dremel.

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

I put my front left fender on
installed my passenger side motor mount
removed and thoroughly degreased my oil filter adapter.
changed my oil
swapped header panels
swapped header/lighting wiring harnesses
degreased my airbox
plugged some vac lines
added a quart of lucas to my engine oil
hooked up two center lights
swapped in new halogen bulbs
dug through three wiring front lighting harnesses to learn i only had one side marker bulb that worked.

and finally... mysteriously fit 6 quarts of oil and a quart of lucas into my 4.0l engine.

I'm just waiting for it to explode but it reads half way between add and full on the stick...

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

so now that my jeep runs, i still have my stalling issue. stalls under a load, like reverse, and drive if i get second or third

Re: What was done to YOUR rig today MECHANICALY????

made some decent front and rear tow hook mounts... they mount threw the 'frame' and then through a decent sized chunk of 1/4" plate steel, all with grade 8, 1/2" bolts

cut my finger, the ONE time I neglected to put on my gloves, that would be the time that the grinder would ride up the peice and go all OM NOM NOMS on my finger...

installed my bump stop that was missing...

figured out I need more bump stop in the front

installed/replaced a missing coil retainer
