What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Nope not to much. At times I wish I had 4.88's but the 4.56's have never let me down. 4.56 and 33's is what I run. Rich was running the same till he robbed a bank a bought 35's...... lol.

fixed the window today

passenger side switch isnt working now.

Well I have developed a nasty shake in the front end basically about 30. It just to be just a little wobble at 45, but I guess the jeep wants attention. I need to just redo the whole front end

Replaced my thermostat again, seems to be working well so far,
Also rocky decided he needed to go for a ride when i was done

Drove to Austin on Friday, then to Waco and back to Houston today.

I had to drive 45 miles yesterday to rescue my daughter and the 89 XJ.

Battery post on a 2.5 year old A-zone-Gold top was leaking acid at the case seal and it ate the clamp-post contacts in just 2-3 weeks since I had just serviced the ground clamp and ran and entire new ground about 3 weeks ago. The + post was OK 3 weeks ago. Acid eats them fast. Second one of that same battery in 3 years that did that on one of my jeeps. Positive post both times. Azone guy told they have had more problems with that one, than others.

But at least I know where the weird electrical gremlins were hanging out the past week.

How do you seem to have non stop problems with autozone parts, but I havent had any issues?

I had no problems with them for about 20 years, since they opened, and I read about others here having non stop problems the last 4-5 years and I wondered the same thing. This is the first time I ever had battery problems with them since they opened.

Oh, BTW, the Bosch water pumps I bought from Rock auto about 12 months ago, that looked so great, have a production flaw, all three of them that I bought, have the pipe nipple thread / hole drilled at the wrong angle, off by about 5-10 degrees, just enough to make getting the hose and clamp on the 3/8 pipe nipple impossible, unless you make some kind of mod :(

When it comes to head light switches for renix, it does not matter where you buy them, they are all junk, and are easily overloaded by the CHEAP AMC wiring design.

That said, I probably did miss diagnose the recent leak, as it looked like the lower AZ radiator hose and the new AZ steering gear box were leaking, but it turned out to be the 18 month AZ water pump (gasket leak perhaps, loose bolt?, not sure, but they were suspect on disasembly) and the 5-6 year old power steering pump both from A-Z, LOL. So what ever was leaking, it came from AZ, LMAO!!!

I never have good luck with az except their batteries, i usually kill them right before the warranty expires lol

This one had a 2 year break though, so i doubt I'll be able to warranty it when it dies

bypassed the window lock, now all the windows roll down again.

F autozone batteries. I've stood by AZ for most everything as long as I've been turning wrenches. I had a AZ 1000 CCa gold in the jeep for about a year before I ended up getting a glassmat battery for it. I modified the battery tray in the mazda to fit that AZ battery and within 2.5 years it crapped. A few months outside of complete coverage.

Oh....and now they give you a shittier warranty. Super.

yea the warranty does suck now, but ive had the one in the my for 3 years now in 2 different jeeps. I'm sure it will die soon, but i have a back up in my shed that came in the mj.
