With a little help, I (WE LOL) got the pretzled lower control arm out and replaced on 89. It was a battle, more so going in than coming out, LOL, but we prevailed!!!!

I had the cut 1/4" off of the hollow tube on one side as it was too long (Damn China junk no doubt) but my China Sawsall :sunshine:took care of the problem, like it was butter, LOL!

That was the major serious damage I think.

Well last weekend I redid my pace setter header I got from Rich an few years ago. I was sick of the slip joints leaking so I welded them together and welded a 3 bolt header flange at the corner of the lower section of the header where it turns to go under the oil pan and welded the other slip joint to the rest of the exhaust.

Fast foward to today and I think I set a record. lol I found another exhaust leak on the header whet the primaries meet so off it comes again..... From turning the first bolt to having the intake off first then the header off second, it took me all of about 40 minutes. lol. Yup done that a few times so I can probably do it with my eyes closed now....

Well I sandblaster the header just around the seams to see the leaks. Found a few...lol So I welded up what I could get to and fill welded the stuff i couldn't get to easily. Tested today and still a little leak in the areas I could not really get to. But all back together for the second time in a week. It was running like poo so I got my Snap-On MT2500 scanner out and found that the O2 sensor was not changing voltage at all so need a new O2 sensor now.... And found(via the scanner) that the computer was seeing the tps at .75 volts. So adjusted that back down a bit to about .62 volts. Spec is between .60 and .70 volts.

Renix TPS? If so it is .82 volts

If you got any silicone near the O2 sensor while welding it can kill the O2 sensor. Did you check the O2 heater voltage?

Got pulled over in Plano on the way to work and cited for expired inspection (from 2010). Oops.

Got mine inspected yesterday. First he told me his machine, dyno was down....then discovered my 87 is now EXEMPT!!!! from EPA-Gestapo inspections!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!! 25 years old is the cut off!!! 2 more years and my 89s will be exempt.

I was a little disappointed, as I had done repairs sine the last inspection passed by 1 ppm, and I was curious how low the emissions are now.

Mike, does that mean you only have to pay the $12.50 for inspection?

YES!!!!! I forget the exact amount, but close to that, YES!!!

Also jumped a Prius at work.

Mike, you're saying that worked fine up to the 3 setting? My buddy bought Rogers old 87 and he's describing it doing the same thing.
