what steel to use

I have a small question what round solid steel to use on my steering
cold roll or hot roll.

Well what on your steering are you making? If you are talking to the guys at the steel supplier find out which is stronger in your perticular size and go with that. Ive used 4340 for most my stuff and have had no failures yet but it is a little more expensive.
