ok crack haed again to far it was not jay welder so get off my ass secondly kurk ur welds dont look any better u just grinded the crap out of ur. plus that welder fis loike jay's vits not gas and it is a mig. note not gas migs r 4 lite doty work and not for good stranth. when u do not use gas there is no shild to keep the weld cool. so the wheld gets to hot to fast and then cools down to fast. and not to michen there r to difren tipes of metal one bing stanless and the other bing just what some call just regler stil.

1st off enough with the name calling its pissing me off. You do not want that here. Kurt knows what I am talking about. I will go past to far.

2nd learn to take criticism, and learn fast. I know children that take it better than you do.

3rd. Kurt grinds down the weld so it is flat. His welds have plenty of penetration, after the welds are ground down it is still welded solid. My welder is a mig welder set up properly to not use gas at the moment. So there will be slag, get over it. It will have to be ground down more then a welder using gas.

4th. migs(gas) are for smaller jobs, and non-gas are for larger/heavier jobs. And larger wire for thicker metal. They do not recommend using gas for thick metal. Its even on all the welders recommendations on the back side of the access door for the wire.

5th. Yes my welder can be set up as a mig(gas mix), but it is not set up that way at the moment it is set up with .035 innershield wire. So my welder is set up properly for thicker metal.

6th. Unless I missed something here, which I may have. were do you think you have stainless metal on your jeep or on the bumper. All I saw there was regular steel, nothing more nothing less.

7th. the gas is not to cool anything. It is to give a cleaner weld. It helps keep out the impurities in the weld, for better corrosion control.

YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO WELD! ANYONE that has seen you weld or has seen ANY of your welds can tell you that. We all have just been waiting for one of your weld to give to show you... but you STILL don't beleive it. I am not a master welder but I know I can weld better then you. I grind down my weld to dress them up and get them ready for paint. I know more about that welder than you ever will. Like right now its not set up for mig welding and if it was it WOULD NOT be able to weld through 1/4 inch steel. With the flux/sheilded core wire IT WILL! And I know more about steel then you do. Remeber I worked in a machine shop? One that you have been to... Not one that I said I worked at and can't prove it like you. You never even heard of 4140 steel before I told you about it. Tell you what I will post a picture of my un-ground down welds and you post a picture of yours and we will let the welders and fab guys on here decide, sound good to you?

I guess you don't remember that I helped you store your crap at my house when you got kicked out. And remember it was your lift we were installing when I cut my arm. And alot of other things I have done to help you out.

And the only reason ANY of us were going to help you go to Glimer was so you could have a reality check and maybe stop with your BS... Hell you said you would pay for my trip there cuz I hurt my arm working on your XJ... but you had no money to go yourself. Even though you gave $300 dollars out of you income tax money so you could go. But 2 weeks later you told me you were still waiting on the check to come in. Since you lost your job a few months ago you have spent WAY more money than I made during that same time.

So in short, GROW UP AND ADMITT WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!

ok lest start this over this started because some one sad my welds r no good now lets take n to count down what let to my welds on my bumper braking

1 a very crappy welder
2 i have hit a lot of trees and over thing with that bumper
3 i have used it to push many cars off the road
4 about a week ago i hit a car with it doing 70 mph and bent my frame and the brackets
5 right before i broke it off i pushed three out of the 4 cars back in to place with it
6 lats but not lest THE BRAKETS THAT I MADE WHERE NOT MENT TO BE PURMENT IT WAS MADE OUT OF SKRAP I HAD LAYINNG AROUND AT THAT TIME!

P.S. i was trying to brack it off so that i would not have to cut off my welds it is ezer that way to my.

1. A Lincon 3200 HD is NOT a crappy welder.
2. I hit ALOT of this this weekend with my sliders AND bumper and like I said NOT ONE CRACK IN A WELD. And I have people that can back me up on what I hit.
3. With the way your bumper was designed you would do REAL damage to ANY car you tried to push off of the road without something inbetween them.
4. Like Chia said your XJ would be TOTALED if you hit ANYTHING at 70 mph. I can show you crash test videos from the DOT where XJs hit thing at 45 mph and it crumpled the WHOLE XJ up.
5. You told me that you broke it pushing 2 cars back into place not 3 AND your picture in this post stating when you broke your bumper, you are on top of the cars not pushing them.
6. You told me ALONG time ago that you bought that bumper from some one and you didn't make it. And I beleive that because the bumper itself held up but your welds holding it to your XJ didn't.

Please Chris stop now! You are taking this too far and like I said you can't remember what stories you tell to who. And remember that we all talk to each other also.

This dude just needs to start taking responsibility, and stop trying to have a pissing match with everyone he comes across it sounds like. There is nothing wrong with not being a great welder, it takes time, practice, etc..... but being a bad welder and not admitting it just makes you look stupid, and is dangerous for yourself and those around you when it means things could come flying off of your jeep at random times.

Maybe if you stopped trying to convince everyone how cool you are by lying about random stuff, and just started being yourself people would like you alot more.
