I'm a college student studying communication arts. I work as a security guard during the year and as a truck driver for a moving company in Charlotte, NC.
I work full time for a master plumber. You name it, we do it. If work is slow I go to ATL and put totalled cars somewhat back together and ship them overseas.
Honestly, there have been several times were i've thought about just throwing it in and going to work somewhere, anywhere. Combination of the insane work schedule, work load, lack of pretty much any time to myself to do the things I enjoy, and only getting financial help from my mom and step dad and zero from my dad. Last year is what just about did me in, and I kept hearing Junior year was the hardest in the program....this is proving to be more or less the same, but I keep telling myself this is it..once I get to May, I graduate...provided I get through all my classes (and right now i'm looking at just trying to pass them the best I can..not so much going for the "almighty 3.0 GPA" that seems to be the holy grail for Engineering majors.
