What do you do for a living?

Automotive and Diesel mechanic buy trade (Went to Nashville Auto Diesel College, 1985) I have been rebuilding diesel-electric locomotive engine and air brake components for the last 15 years for Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific and Burlington Northern (The "Big 3" railroads). I have done many jobs with my company I work for (22 years) from sweeping the floor to pouring molten gray iron/ductile iron/aluminum/brass into molds to being a lead man in a molding department to a machine maintenance tech. I have reached a "master tech" status with my company and I train all new technicians.

I own a lawn care business as a side job and also do repairs and lifts on Jeeps for local wheelers. I spend a considerable amount of my free time coaching youth football/baseball.

Thats just about it I think.

I am a Finance Manager turning Video Technology Engineering Project Manager. By Video Technology Engineering I mean we architect and implement IPTV and Video On Demand for large- and mid-market telco's and service providers. I worked up to Finance Manager and then caved to the VP of Engineering attempts at recruiting me.

I have education in finance/accounting/personal finance so ask away if you need any advice.

11 years as an Active Duty Infantryman in the US Army, at least 9 to go. Two trips to Iraq, getting ready to do Afghanistan. I've seen the best in people and the worst.

You can lock a Stryker into 8 wheel drive, but I have still seen guys get them, stuck.......:dunce:

US Army Military Police

"of the Troops for the Troops"

the most hated job in the military, nobody wants a ticket and everybody wants us to come running when their i-pod gets stolen

Hey Vortec, we work for our fellow Americans. Thanks for the support.

KP, you ARE the most hated job in th Army, but it depends on who's giving the ticket. I have served with some cool MP's, and I have been pulled over by both sides of the cool/not so-cool types.

All you guys with the cool tech skills, I'm coming to you soon. I have lots of beer and my new house has garage........:wstupid:

14 yrs as a retail auto parts general manager- I basically platoon between "retail parts whore" and "adult babysitter" with my job. Prior to this career, I have worked route sales for a gourmet coffee company, sold cars for the largest used car dealer in Florida, and apprenticed as a cabinet maker for the furnishings department of the residential facilities for the University of Maryland- where I graduated in 1992 with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.

now I just live at the beach and watch everyone else rush around in their never ending quest for status.

Probably IPTV...it's digital delivery of television through fiber. It's starting to kick the tail of traditional RF and cable delivery. We are in the chase of quite a few IPTV jobs right now.
