What do you collect?

Or Laser Disk... the BIG 12" jobs!

Hey - I still have a bunch of those!

Hell, remember the old "Video Discs?" The ones that came in the plastic slip cartridges, and looked like records? I think I've still got a batch of those somewhere...

And I will maintain - now and forever - that the very best way to listen to Blues is on an 8-track deck...

5-90

Record albums: >10000 (for well over 20 years, its a huge set now)
Psychology books: ~250 (older the better)
Barley-twist furniture: 12 pieces (preferably quarter-sawn English oak)
Coins: thousands (pretty much stopped now though)
Old tools: ~50 (antiques preferred, especially woodworking)
Handcrafted boxes: ~100 (started when I was 4, I've had thousands over the years, but I trade them and retire them too. metals, woods, ornate, packing, etc. must be small)
Old medical instruments: ~25
Old sailing instruments: ~12

I used to have other collections, but the wife has exercised her veto many times when we've moved. I don't miss them though, I collect way too much shit as it is. :D

Don't forget the pics of large naked women, Beej. Is that collection measured by the gigabyte?

Models of 1920's, 30's, and 40's racing planes. Along with any print, ads, pictures, or anything else I can get about them.

Does my porn collection count? :anon:

I collect orthopedic hardware. I even have some parts that got removed on my key chain.

I have a money pit in the gun safe. I'm originally from the south, so firearms are an integral part of my life. I don't count ammo in this forum as I go through a lot of it and never have enough on hand.

I also collect minature scale model aircraft. I'm a pilot and airplane nut. I have over 200 1/144 scale aircraft. My curio runnith over.

Old metal coolers, Pottery Face Jugs, chain saw carved bears

AIRPORT KEY CHAINS.

I used to travel quite a bit.

my daughter always wanted a gift when I got home.

so, to make it easy. I started to bring home souvenier key chains.

Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. memorabilia, cars, haulers, random collectibles etc. Also Red Sox and Pats stuff, with lots of autographs.

I've wanted to start collecting old tin signs for a while (like gas station signs, John Deere, oil companies) but lately all my money has been going into my Jeep, fishing, and now I'm getting into bow hunting.

:D I just assumed that everyone would already know that. And I don't actually store them on my computer, too risky that a family member could intercept... Just bookmarks. Thousands upon thousands of bookmarks... :D Of course they don't have to be naked, just...um...interesting...

I don't collect anything really...never been a pack rat. I like everything to be surgically clean and very well organized. No riff raff. Then I met HER. She collects lunchboxes, anything 50's and Rockabilly, vintage tablecloths. She also has these little things called Homies. They come out of gumball machines and they're plastic figurines about an inch tall of Latino people (???). She says my tools are like toys. We go round and round.

RC Cars, I've got 8 of them and half of them were strays that followed me home.......
Plastic Models, Diecasts (broke my self of that nasty habit), Hot Wheels (broke myself of that one two), I had to get a storage area for those!
Paints, half used, never used, almost gone, in a variety of brands and colors.
Major dust collector, always have enough to give away.
Chrysler 2.2/2.5 parts, left over from when I actually had cars to use them on, anybody need a 2.5 Turbo I?
Cashed checks with my account number, I seem to get more and more of those all the time and mainly with my work's name on them..........aren't I supposed to get a paycheck when I work?
Reciepts from work for RC parts, glad I don't work for a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer, I'd be in real deep trouble then......

Has anyone seen Best in Show? It's one of those obscure Christopher Guest mockumentaries. Anyway, on the DVD one of the bonus feature deleted scenes is one of the characters, Harlan Pepper, (shown below) showing off his beachball collection. It is hilarious. Some of you remind me of that.

I do have this habit of collecting stickers, mostly racing sponsor stickers that they give out at race car shows and trade shows. I usually grab 2 or 3 of each, then they end up in a box at home. I need help.

Star Wars figures, but only lately, as in the last 6 years. I have numerous Phantom Menace and many SWIII, but skipped Clones. I open some and don't others depending on variants. Huge fan since I saw the first one on my dad's station wagon in 77.
I have some KISS stuff and other heavy metal junk. Hot Wheels, but again, only in the last 5 years or so and I open them all. Wish I had all the redlines as a kid.
