Getting ready for the Rubicon. New rear leafs, front springs to lift it a little and match the rears, modifying the rear bumper mounts by sleeving inside the rear frame rails with 2x4x3/16 tubing. Leaned how to weld ok too. Good weekend.

Lots of work, but the payoff will be great.

Wheeled it, ......wheeled it hard, and broke it good.

Finally put in a 37 tooth speedo gear to correct for the 4.10s and 245/75s. Speedo has been off for 10 years. It used to say 65 when I was going 75. Now it's accurate! Interesting how it affected my driving, could be a psychology experiment there... :)

Came out and saw a leaking water pump:

Pulled it last night, need to install a new one today:

Re: Re: What did you do to your XJ today

Drove mine all over winchester Bay ,Reeds port, North Bend,Coosbay and Charleston. About 139.1 miles and averaged a whopping 13.61 mpg.
Thats what I average in my 98. Thank god I live 9 miles from work.

I flipped the fork on the 91s disco d30 and now the front end engages again. Thanks for the advice guys :)
