What did you do to your XJ today

Ground off the shock tabs and smoothed out the rest of the axle tubes on my 8.8 I got from SPECFab. Getting ready to install it on Saturday. Can't wait!

Started 8 hours later than I wanted for reasons beyond my control....
Was up till 1am this morning... pulling the D30


And to make things "interesting" (as my Jeep always does)
I have a cotter pin in one of the ball joints thats broken off and seized in.


I soaked it overnight with some PB Blaster... we'll see if I can extract it now, or maybe even just spin the nut off over it. (not happy)

Finally got another axle under the rear and the front out of the dirt. An idea how the rear is going to sit with the ford 9 and the new 35's. Front, not quite ready...

For 99xj:
any reason you pulled the whole axle? and yes, put a good size 1/2" ratchet on that bolt and you wont even feel the old cotter pin..

Finished up my 8.8 install today by getting everything welded up. Was able to get the 35 removed and the 8.8 in place and bolted up in about 6 hours.

Nice I still have the front carrier for you I forgot to send it down depending how soon you are gearing the front I can get it down to you
