What did you do to your XJ today

Thought that I would finish my 3 inch zone lift today...But due to being a donkey I ended up only getting the front and 35% of the rear done, this was after 10 hours btw. Yeah, I suck at this, but better than paying 400 to my local 4x4 shop. Zone lift looks Beefy as hell. Just wondering why it doesnt say anything abt needing a adjustable track bar when the front is clearly shifted.

I got some carnage alright....On my wallet. Ended up having to get my jeep towed to S.Oregon 4x4 because I broke the welded nuts off on both sides of my leaf spring hangers....I would have fixed it myself, but I have no tools or an extra car. I have to admit though, it does feel nice to finally get a break. 10 hours yesterday and 9 hours today is way to much wrenching for me. The smell of Pb blaster made me sick for some reason as well. Now my back hurts, my tailbone hurts and I feel sick as hell+ Im sure that the shop is going to take advantage of me......All for a 3 inch lift and I dont even offroad? Am I stupid or something?:wow:

Got pulled over by D.P. our local State Patrolman for over height bumpers on my passenger car (Cherokar) and he said I could register my rig as a truck and and be allowed
taller bumper height 4500 and under is 24" and over 4501 is 27" which is how tall my front bumper is. He let me off with a warning and told me to fix it or he will stop me again.

There is no way my Jeep will see 4500+ lbs so I'm not sure what to do.

pay the tonnage if the DMV doesn't catch the fact that its an SUV. If they do tell them you have upgraded the suspension and axles to 1 ton. I had to do this it took me going to two different DMV loactions.

Are you over 27" If so get it inspected with less air(If your close) once you have the state patrol inspect then air up.

What size lift and tires? I was harassed when i had 32" and 4.5 inch lift

I already drive on 22 psi because my 16" tire are load range E. I'm thinking if he nails my Arse if it's under 50$ I'll eat the ticket. About 5" and 285/16's dead nuts 27 at the lowest part of the face of my bumper. So will they weigh it and put a new sticker on ? This guy pulled my boss over in his 01 Ram 3500 with like 10" lift(lol) and 40's and he has checked both our stickers warned me and gave the boss a 250+$ splash guard ticket like 5 months ago. Boss mans truck weighs in at 9500lb so bumpers aren't a problem for him like they are for me. I suppose Ruger81 has a good idea Thanx.
