Doing it right this time.

Yay!!!

What did you get??

nice, tried and true m8000! i'm about ready to do the routine maintenance on mine since it's been on there for 8 years or so.. ..probably overdue, but hasn't seen super hard use. but gets a fair amount of weather exposure, so...

Blew a fooking head gasket today... must be a lot of that going on, cuz absolutely NONE of the parts stores from Salem to Lebanon had head gasket kits I'm stock.
. had to buy gaskets separately ... guess who gets to replace a head gasket in sub-freezing temps tomorrow? THIS GUY!!! Grrrrr!!!!

Been doing this in shifts, since it's so cold outside... just a few odds and ends to install/hook up and will be done... my only gripe : why no locating dowels for cylinder head? Not much wiggle -room with head gasket... ended up making 2 locating studs out of extra bolts I had... cut them to length, slotted one end... installed them diagonally from one another (bolt holes #6 and 8)... after head was dropped in place, simply used slotted screwdriver to extract them, cuz I'm super-smart like that!!!

Thanks! Like Gunnery Seargent Highway always says, "Improvise, adapt and overcome "!!!

Just finished up... good to go... what a PITA!! Will post a writeup soon (no pics, but I will be descriptive! )

Finally took the time to install the set of rock sliders that have been sitting in my garage for the last four months.last piece of armor to install is the rear side protection and the tire carrier.
Next I will be installing the 4.5" that I have been piecing together for the past 4 months. Only need shocks all the way around and upper control arm.
After the lift I will be looking for a sye and lockers.

Nice progression man!
You're at that pivital "light at the end of the tunnel moment"
...I've been there.

Swapping out the ignition coil and testing the fuel pressure, hopefully get this stalling issue done. Anyone know when swapping the ignition coil in, do you sand down the two bolt holes that it has?

Just finished installing the radiator I,purchased from nightfoam (thanks Ryan) along with a new water pump, and updating a Renix cooling system to an open cooling system. But now the dang thing won't crank or fire up grrrrrrrr. Have power i.e. lights, buzzer just won't crank or anything. 12volts at battery just FYI.

Are your sure you hooked up all the connectors that you disconnected durning your work? Check at the starter for 12v. If its there have someone turn the key to start why you check the start wire the operates the solenoid m it should have 12v they when the key is in the start position.

Check to make sure all the wires are firmly connected to the starter relay and the little wire is running from the relay to the starter

Got it up and running then among all things saw coolant come flying out from the thermostat housing what the, great one more repair that needs immediate attention. Sonofabi**h well time to start working on that part.

Took her up to 3Pools and Opal Creel with Bronzewyrm and some others... great time, found 6+ inches of snow, had a fire and s'mores and just hung out in the snow.

Well my engine has a crack in the water jacket radiating from where the water pump is bolted back almost to the first freeze plug. So if anyone knows where I can find a low cost engine that still runs please let me know.
