What did you do to your XJ today

Prepping also. My area around my latch on the drivers door is all cracked and broken. I want to repaint anyway so I picked up a door from Avanteone. So I installed it. Man I wish it was the same color but oh well it was a good price and it works. Time to get it ready for paint.

Dear god! It looks like you went wheeling with a bunch of drunks and tore up your rig:moon::moon::moon:

I replaced the zerks in my LCA's and greased them and the TRE's up, torqued down the LCA axle mounts and track bar mount and surprise surprise my annoying clunk when I turn is gone.

Does that penetrate deep enough and strong enough for bumpers and sliders?

Depends on the amperage your welder is rated for and who is doing the welding. I've welded way thicker stuff then what my 110v welder is rated for with it and hard wire many times. It's all in the technique.

Yes we went out got drunk and went illegal wheeling. Screw being the responsible one that is part of a club some call a cult. I'm joining the party. Lol

Its a really bad pic. Nothing has changed except the door. No new dents or even scratches. As a matter of fact besides snow wheeling it hasn't been out of the garage since the trophy challenge. Its really sad but all my money has been going into my savings. Hoping to get a house and my own shop shortly. I am going to the sand flee rally this coming weekend just look around I will be rocking the white door.

White door? It's hardly noticeable.

Ill give that a try, will still have to find gas first since as far as I have read, flux core needs 220 amps to work best and mine only is 110 :(

I spent years welding flux with a 20 year old 110v 135 welder using only .035 flux core. I built bumpers, frame stiffeners, a crossmember, and many other things just turn the amperage up and wire speed way down. You don't want to do sheet metal with flux but it will be fine for what you need.

Changed the oil, greased the front end, topped up my power steering fluid. Think I've got a high pressure line leaking. And my transmission lines are leaky too. Or is that the front main...? Gotta take this dang skid plate off and investigate further..

Re-attached the rearview mirror after knocking it off last week.

Got my new radiator, water pump and thermostat in the Jeep. I ended getting a Champion 2row. Nice unit but it had two flaws I didn't like much. I had to make the diameter of the lower fitting for the tranny smaller so it would fit the factory line. Also had the cut the core support so the cap would clear.

Before I trimmed a radius.

Then this showed up. I'll get it installed tomorrow.

That's a nice looking ORF bumper. I was just looking at my C-Rok front bumper waiting for oil to drain yesterday and thought that a light bar like that would be a good addition so I can move my lights off this park bench I've got hanging off my front end. ha-ha. Seriously though, it will be a good place to sit, but right now the lights are in the way. Will also make it easier to step up and look under the hood etc. And a great beginner welding project for me, since I've only got a little experience and it's not going to be structural. That is all.
