What did you do to your XJ today

A few weeks ago, I was contacted and informed a few sets were laying around for manual cranks.
I think he did a small production run.. ..anyways, I ordered a set and painted and installed them this weekend.
They only come unfinished now.

I used some of that rubberized undercoating to help give them texture to match the interior panels.

They mount nicely and feel rigid and secure with 6 tabs and allen head screws.

XJ Door Pocket- 4 Door Manual Window
Option: Plain Finish $54.99 USD

Kind of pricey, but my wife wanted to get them for me (her gum wrappers) a few years ago, so they were a gift, sort of, and I don't regret it, because this is function I use daily!

Removed my Detours Tailbone in preparation for a bit of fabrication tomorrow..

My friend with the welder is feeling under the weather, so no fab today!
I went to the salvage yard instead and found a 97 (like mine) in great shape:
Look how beautiful the day was, nice green trees, sun shining - it was like heaven.

Incredibly satisfying trip to the salvage yard today. Inner fenders, mechanical fan shroud, electric fan, radio antanae, injector wiring harness guide, headlights, 3 relays, and all the mounting hardware for $140.00! The E-fan alone is $360.00 from the dealer here in Canada!

After I paid, he said he forgot to add the antanae, relays, and wire guide.
I offered to settle up, but karma was on my side.

Canadian yards have trees! Everything is nice in Canadia

Put leather ZJ seats up front and a sound bar in this afternoon. Seats were a steal - $150 for front and rear both. Sound bar was a bit of a pain - someone chopped off the wiring harness and hatcheted some other bits inside, but we got 'er in.

I'm really happy with them; they're heaps better than the torn vinyl ones they replaced. Just need to hook up some wiring for the recline and they'll be good to go.

Spent way too much time over the last two days wiring up a brake controller and 7-way connector so I can now tow my trailer with much more ease. Legally too! Brakes on the trailer are great, can't even feel it when I'm stopping.

Yeah haha - the grass is greener!
I took that picture at the yard because it was like heaven that day
Beautiful trees, nice sunny day, no mud... ..and a fresh 97 XJ to get stuff from.

Yesterday I welded for the first time!
MIG, 110V Lincoln.
I NEED A GARAGE!

Welding is really fun - I'd love to improve.
It's almost like performance art - angle, speed, technique...
...really awesome and fun.

How rude, Eh?

I was confused, I apologize 100%.
I'll make it up to you at NWFest.
Chalk it up to my jealousy and insecurity.
My rig is nowhere near as built, and has seen far less country than yours.
I thought you were making fun of my comment about "performance art = welding."
Not just rubbing it in my face that I'm garage-less!
