the last one is a father daughter pic.

Beautiful. It took me 6 months of searching the net,classifieds..Etc and a 6 hour greyhound ride before I found my dream xj. Hopefully your search was much quicker partner.lol

Old window tint was so bad that I couldn't even see out of it....4 hours later. Problem fixed

thanks. yah her Honda was stolen in tri cities jan. 5th and I found this one on cl a few days later . I just had to wait on insurance to buy this one. she has wanted a xj ever since I started building mine. hers will stay stock for a while since it is her d.d.

Wheeled the Beans out of it up at Walker Valley Saturday dented up my driver back dog leg and door and filled every gap on the passenger side with soft fluffy mud it was a great day the only trail I didn't hit was Ron's Run due to snapping a stainless valve stem the last time. I'm not into that much abuse to my rig as I drive it up and back to wheel and that's half the fun.

opened up the transfer case due to it growling and found this. I had already ordered parts to rebuild it so I was able to get it going last night.

the drum was rubbing the chain sprocket.

Looks like part of your shift fork is worn away? Was it hard to shift like that? What parts did you end up replacing to fix it, did you do a full rebuild or just replace certain things?

The NP242 in my XJ seems a little "growly" lately and is hard to shift, I'm thinking it could be about time for a rebuild or service. But I don't know if I should just order the full $250 rebuild kit and replace everything, or open it up and replace only what I find that is worn.

Nice find on the new rig. I always thought the 'Cheif' models looked interesting, didn't know they still had that trim level available in '87.

yah the fork was about worn through. it was not hard to shift. it was actually not bad to do . it does shift easier now though . I replaced the fork ,chain and seals. much better now. I did it all in the jeep.

well lets see . I had to replace my radiator on Wednesday and then my tranny cooler lines started to leak so I replaced those yesterday and I finally got to drive it today. the good news is everything is working great and we got about a foot of snow in the last 2 days so I got to play and try out the transfer case since I just went thru it last Friday.

Used my Jeep Thurs/Fri and all weekend to recover/rescue cars all around the Gresham/Troutdale area. Even one out in the Beaverton/Tigard area.

Got the Jeep runnin to get a fellow coworker home safe. Pissed at management for not helping her. Some people should not be in their positions.
But, the Jeep is running and the heater blower works, barely.
