What did you do to your XJ today

Made some decent progress on my rear bumper.

Even though I've never needed to pull a trailer before, I decided to add a receiver just in case.

Ran the d-ring tabs through the main tube to tie into the mounts.

Still have to bend the end pieces inward to contour to the body, taper the sides up, and make some slider bars for the low quarters. Hoping to have it installed next weekend, since my NWF to-do list isn't getting any smaller.

How much to make me one and deliver it to NWFest?

Hit the trails today. Went to Liberty and got some trail time with Howard and CoolCal - jeep climbed right up stump hill. Those trails are VERY different this time of year - lots of sloppy mud! Thanks to Howard and Cal for their time - had a lot of fun.

Thanks again to Kent 4WD for assisting with this setup. Lockers, Gears and my new KM2s? This combination ROCKS!

Has a little bit of bump steer so I might drill another hole in the TB bracket to raise the Jeep side mount up a little.

figured out that Dana 44 upper ball joint dust boots make good 1-ton TRE dust boots also.

Back off topic,

I decided to jump on the Student discount when I found that CS4 gets a free CS5 upgrade. Only used CS2 (Illustrator) before (once). Now I am on a crash course to get other assignments done by Monday with CS4.

Sorry to go back off topic again but check out what 10 seconds of CS5's 'content-aware' can do.

Drove the jeep to work today and picked up my tabs/new plates. The new booster/MC combo rocks. I might switch to a slightly larger MC at some point in the future but it is still way better than the stock stuff.

Hmm, I can offer you a smoking deal on Mojo's old stock bumper? :D I've even added several custom touches to it courtesy of a root ball on Waterfall, and a tree at Lyda Camp.

Anyways, I plugged away at the bumper for a few hours today.

Plus some of this...

Makes it look like this...

After that I tapered the ends up, and made some filler plates for the bottom. Then worked on some slider bars for under the rear quarters.

Capped the ends.

Tacked the sliders in place.

Just need to cut out some tail light fillers, and then burn it all home.
