Today I pulled my RV to the dump station and back. It has been in my yard since the sand flea rally. Well now it's back in my yard. O and I washed it.

Got some 31 10.5 15 Goodrich MT T/A KM's 70% tread for 250yesterday and gonna steal pop's Rubicon rims today and slap them on the 98.
Dang it! I hope you are wrong!
Picked up about 4mpg... only thing I did was 1. removed silencer-baffle thing from air box 2. moved air temp. sensor from intake manifold to airbox 3. raised rear of hood to allow underhood heat to escape... 4. installed turbo muffler and ixnay'd the cat (no DEQ here!)... after 6 months averaging 14.7 mpg, this last tank netted almost 18mpg! Wow... didn't change driving habits, gas, anything else... just those 4 things above...
? Put the gloves away![]()
You will find that most people who post information as clearly as John did that it is usually acurate. John is no exception to this rule!
1. This is counter intuative to everything I have learned about vehicles, particularly XJ's.
2. Put the Cat back on. unless it is blocked it won't make any difference to your gas mileage!!!!

Um, no... the cat will not be going back on... the ceramic media inside the cat (i.e. the "catalyst") had broken away from the casing into several pieces and was just rattling around, causing a restriction... second, I had a local muffler shop do a backpressure test on the exhaust system... before replacing cat and old stock muffler, bp was almost 6 psi... way too high to be considered functional... after replacement, bp went down to around 1 1/2 psi... perfect for an otherwise stock 4.0... if we start getting DEQ checks down here, I will go with a low-restriction cat...
EDIT: wasn't MAT sensor... moved IAT sensor... Intake Air Temp. ... moved from intgake manifold to air box...

LOL No offense taken. I did not have my coffee yet eitherHope: is a belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances in one's life. Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.[1]
In a religious context, it is not considered as a physical emotion but as a spiritual grace. Hope is distinct from positive thinking, which refers to a therapeutic or systematic process used in psychology for reversing pessimism. The term false hope refers to a hope based entirely around a fantasy or an extremely unlikely outcome.
