OK, so this is a tread to submit your important XJ issues or milestones of "today".

So I started today with pulling out my engine witch I'm to replace with an new refurbished one.

Working on a rear cargo/sleeping platform for mine. Its been a couple weeks in progress, but this is how far Ive gotten.

Ok, today, the new refurb. engine is almmost completed assembled and ready for installation

I finished putting the valvetrain in the stroker, getting ready to paint

So today I finished the installation of the new engine, first fire was amazing....Bang....and runs like a cat

Also converted to el-fans...NICE

NOPE...straight OEM engnine. My old one had sylinder nocking/rattling, no use in trying to fix it. New engine purchased for 1 230 $. without core excange.

Some local has done the stroker conversion with god result.

ya, know you got a man's man's lift , when you have the engine, tranny and transfer hanging off the cherry picker.:clap:

finished installing rockers, valve cover, and gave the stroker a fresh coat of Race Hemi Orange

no pic here

so far i did is
-gutted the carpets out of the jeep
-door removed and sold
-drain/fill trans oil (bought with black oil in it, suprisely it still work perfectly!)
-lot of TLC
-hook up a manual switch for elec fan
-removing ABS unit
-trim a ton for 34"s with no lift
-cut the rusty floor out
-cut the rusty rocker panels out
-front/rear bumpers removed

what'll be done soon
-weld lock the rearend
-home brew rear bumper
-weld in some square tubing in the rocker panels i cut out
-weld in new floors
-paint
-bump stop it some
-lift more if can
blah blah

swapped the power leather seats,intake,APN manifold,magnaflow muffler, aux fan, and the head unit from my totaled 92 limited to my bare bones 91 2 door. tomorrow im doing the ca's,motor and tranny mounts and making the seats work, if i have time i need to fix a hack job on the fenders from the PO.

I don't have any pics of what i did today. I put in some new 1.25 inch lift shackles and a new V8 ZJ tie rod that cost me 16 dollars and did a free alignment.

-Decided to cut and fold my fenders
-Put on my new moab wheels and tires
-Found out my rear rockers were rusted out and started fixing them
-Almost burned my Jeep to the ground

Yesterday replaced the distributor,hope that takes care of my misfire issues.

Today Going to finish building my spare driveshaft.

Here ya go. What I though was going to be a simple cut and fold turned into an all day ordeal. It started with the stupid rust. After cutting and bending the fender metal, I decided to weld the lip to the inside of the fender, instead of just liquid nails, rtv, etc. Well, what I didn't realize was there is a stupid mini-trashbag full of cotton and fiber insulation in the lower quarter panel. No idea what it is for other than to sabotage your metal with rust. Needless to say, after burning the fender lips together, I had smoke pouring out of my quarter panel and cargo area. I ripped out the interior panels like the incredible hulk, breaking a bunch of plastic in the process, and put out the flames inside my car. The rest of the day was spent repairing the stupid rust and getting more plastic from the junkyard...

The stupid bag full of suprises.

And how the fenders looked at the end of the day. Still have to sand down the fiberglass filler and shoot more primer/paint.
