Tim perfected thinning rustoleum in the big cans to be shot with an hvlp gun... i think we should go that route.... lets paint it something bright ;)

I'm thinking flat tan, maybe even a flat clay/orange for mine

A little darker than this

A little less orange more dirt/clay

Something in Blue would look real nice.

I used a 4” palm sander-Dewalt, used for wood working. Resin type sand paper and about $25 for rattle can primer, $70 for NAPA Dark Blue polyurethane enamel. Plugged in a $9 flee market spray gun, with no dryer and got these results. About $7 worth of Advance Auto pin stripping. Sanded and primed for about 3 hours one afternoon. Wet sanded and dried the next morning. That day I started at 8:30am and drove it outta the shop at 3:00pm (Lunch break optional) First attempt at anything larger than a motorcycle tank. You can do it!

cool pic. Its like a jeep version of "King of the Mountain"

The OD green or desert tan will turn out much better if you are spray-bombing it. It would be hard to keep a good consistency with a gloss.
