What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

New front drive shaft installed and worn out CV joint removed and bagged to become trail spare for rear drive shaft CV joints. Now I just need to bolt all these damn skid plates back up and take the engine skid into work to straighten it back out a bit.

MAP is only a month old. I think the CPS is good because I can read RPM on the FIC, but that could be coming from the camshaft sensor. I'm also pretty certain the TPS is good because I can read it from the FIC as well, but I do recall lately that sitting at idle the PCM was showing around 17% throttle position.

Here's the goofy thing - if as soon as it starts I press the throttle and hold it at around 1500 RPM, it runs fine for as long as I hold it there. That makes me think the fuel pressure is fine. But if I let off for a second then it immediately dies. Bad IAC?

EDIT: Yes I hate electrical as well even though I am pretty good at things electronic. But my current other project of rebuilding the two-stroke engine on my son's KX65 is proving far easier than this.

I just had the battery out since I was having problems with it starting at all, so it's already been reset recently. Had it out for one drive yesterday, now today it won't start / run at all. I'll try resetting again though.

Auto transport came yesterday to drop the XJ off. Started up okay, drove it for about 200 yards and then it died going up my driveway. Would crank fine but it wouldnt turn over. Pulled the Neg battery cable for about 20 minutes, re-attached it, and then she started right up. I'm guessing the drop from 7000ft to 300ft messed with the ECU. It's like....."Oxygen?!"

New poly 3" springs, Poly track bar and sector shaft brace, poly adjustable track bar, and Smitty Built trail mirrors all installed today. Jeep is ready for COFest!!!

Monday I'm going to pick up a CB and get that wired up/installed.

I made a deal to swap my 35" KM2's for some 37" maxxis creepy crawlers. Unfortunately it won't be until next weekend.
