What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

The very same bracket under Horribillis' rig that I'm parting out looks exactly like that......... Ya sure Zac didn't drive over a parking lot light base? :D

That ain't gonna be any fun to fix.......
And is there a new ATM in the living room?

Actually I hammered it out enough to get another control arm on. However, much of the rust has popped off of one of the welds on the axle, which tells me that weld ain't long for the world. I've got a new bracket coming, so the old one is coming off. Maybe Mr. ATM machine would be interested in making a few bucks, and welding it on?

6.5 from iro. So I can 4 link the rear and go bigger tires once these are wored out. They are cheap and all I have found bad about them is people say it sucks on road. But this is an off road toy. I didn't want to spend to much on the lift to start cause I know it will change a lot from now till when i am "done"

have to buy new hubs......
drivers side hub = burnt toast......

on the plus side, at least i can still buy them. ($240)

i was told they stopped making and selling them.

I fiksed it.

I did get the bracket back into shape enough to mount a control arm, but I was worried about metal fatigue.

done a good amount of wheeling yet?

Alright, I'll spell it out -- you got the face palm because you asked some pretty good questions about your lift options, you got some pretty good advice from the members, the thrust of which was that (a) of all the options you had, serious offroad was your best, and (b) IRO was your worst. You chose (b), so you get the facepalm  We'll still help you out, we just don't quite get it when people seek advice and then ignore it.

Jeep has had a few fixes done in the last month or so. Haven't posted on here in a while....

Rear end was sagging some, and the 3.07's were pretty doggy. I picked up a 3" add a leaf and a set of axles off a couple members for cheap with 3.55's and the turdy-5 converted to disks /w a limited slip. I went ahead and bought all new brakes for both axles, adjustable track bar, along with V8 ZJ steering. Cleaned the hell out of the axles and primed/painted them with a few fresh coats of flat black. Also went ahead and put two new tires on the front. After I got it all back together I decided to be nice to her and buffed the hell out of the paint and waxed it for the first time since I have had it. Turned out pretty nice!!! Speedometer/odometer reads about 9.8% FAST now based on my GPS readings, but according to my calculations would be back to normal with 33's. Tons more pep off the line, and I rarely need to shift out of 5th gear when cruising. Not alot of nose dive on heavy braking(with a cool howl from all 4 tires when threshold braking!!!) and a MUCH quicker stop!

Saggy butt....

I still need to get front disco's, a steering stabilizer, and the correct e brake cables for the disks.

Its come a long way in a year!
