What a S*^^TY Christmas Eve...

Most of you don't know me, but I have lived in South Lake for almost 4 years now.. The names Mike for those of you that don't know...

This is a great way to start off the season..... Tonight coming home from work, my fiance tried to stop at a yellow light while going about 25, she lost control and we slammed into the snow bank/curb with the passenger side of the jeep... Luckily no body damage, but about 6 inches of the wheel lip broke off, lower control arm mount on the axle completely bent, steering bent, oil pan bent, and god only knows what else is bent until I can properly diagnose it...

I have never really asked for much in my life but being a broke college student I need a little help... If anyone has any stock parts lying around that you don't want/need, please let me know.... I need steering, control arms, and possibly just a complete dana 30...

By the way, it doesn't matter much but it's a 01 4.0....

Any help is GREATLY appreciated....

I have a nearly complete HP dana 30 just sitting in my garage. I removed the brakes, but the rest is intact. That should be better than your LP Dana 30 anyway, right?

It is yours if you can manage to drive an hour down to Rocklin. I also have a stock track bar that you can have.

I was also sitting here thinking just now, if I am going to be doing all this work on the jeep, I might as well try and lift it... If anyone has extremely cheap lift parts, please let me know..

i got free stock tie rod and track bar if it helps, good shape,
 
I got coils you can have, they're like 3.5 inch or so.
50 bucks.
oh and I'm going to homewood on tuesday. so if you wanna meet me there!
also got other front end stock stuff.
let me know if you need anything, if I can pull my old control arms and such you can have those as well!
 
I've got a stock track bar, control arms, and 2 inch coil spacers.

Get a list of stuff you need, and Im sure sierra chapter will provide!

i got a semi complete RE 3.5" kit ya can have in good shape, 225!
 
After seeing so many rolled, and totaled, XJs here I personally am very happy to hear that you both are okay and any damage you have can be fixed without body work being involved.

I know it is a downer, but try to stay up beat about this. At least you are not signing your jeep over to a towing company, or breaking out the saw and turning it into a trailer queen.

Seriously, a merry Christmas to you and the little woman.

Yes, we do feel very fortunate to be safe and sound... Thank you and a merry Christmas to you as well.

I will try and get a list together in the next couple days... Thanks again everyone.
 
I just want to say thank you to everyone that has offered parts... We talked about it today and we have decided to just suck it up and pay the deductible for the insurance to fix it... With all the snow we are getting, no garage, school starting in 10 days, and 2 jobs, I can't see myself getting the jeep fixed in a timely manner. Again, thank you to everyone and Merry Christmas!!!
 
Well, looks like they are totaling it... We are going to try and buy it back and fix it. So if anyone has parts they are willing to donate, let me know! Thanks, Mike..

They called and told us today that they are going to give us 7k for it... We might need to have a wrenching party here soon if I can find someone with an open garage...
 
I'm coming up to go skiing at heavenly this weekend, it's a group trip but I might be able to throw some stuff in my suit case :D

I need upper and lower control arms
trackbar
tie rod
dana 30
drag link

That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now... Anything off that list would be rad! I work at a snowboard shop here in town, so if you need anything, I can hook you up!!
 
I got all that but I don't think I can bring it all with me ha ha.
I'll definitely bring up the control arms and see what I can do about the steering stuff.
oh and I no longer have the stock trackbar but I'll be pulling my current one off in a few weeks and I'm planning on coming back up there again.

and I'm pretty much all set for snow stuff but thanks a ton!
that's good to know, next time I'm up there for a bit I'll come get my board tuned
