Well, I'm going to jail for 3 years.....

Hey, I work 11 days in a row, 8-10 hours per shift, with one 13 hour shift, and get off 3 days every other weekend. Working 3 12's and then being off 4 days would be a piece of cake.

It's a bitch when your buds go wheeling on your weekend to work............

LOL - Ok, ok Richard.......... you win! :worship: :D

Richard,
Yeah, I spoke for a little while with your dad at a Colorado event a few years back - I think it was the night after the "almost" flop you drove out of on Iron Chest. He was fortunate to work during an era where a jail was a jail and frivolous lawsuits weren't the norm. Back when pinheads in jail learned a true form of discipline..... and those that just wanted to do their time did just that. He did have some good stories.

Not today's jail. I will be working at Jeffco's version of Club Med where we ask the inmates "how can I serve you"...... there's a very good reason why our jail population average has increased enormously over the years.... and it ain't just because of residential population growth.... it's because jail is now just an un-paid vacation with free medical and dental..... oh well.

Yeah, Dad says he could never do it under todays rules.

You make some good points.....it's sad what this country is coming to in this regard. We're in the middle of reviewing compliance training at work, rights, harrassment, and that stuff. It's amazing that someone can be hit in a car accident and a family member gets killed and the family gets very little, but if you say the wrong things around someone at work and they get pissed off about something and sue for a hostile work environment they can walk away with millions. Not saying people shouldn't be treated with respect, just that the court system has become very "unfair" overall. It's a shame to see the courts "follow the money trail" rather than make awards that make sense based the amount of damage done.

So Troy, did you ever have a chance to meet Capt. Caruso? At least I think he was a capt. He died a year or two ago and the funeral was amazing.
I didn't attend, but his son (a great friend of mine) went and was blown away by how Colorado treats thier retired officers. He said that for a solid two miles the roads were lined by cruisers.
I believe his name was Bill, or Bob?
Anyway, I can't complain about my scheduel. I work about 30hrs a week. Take lots of time off and I get to sleep with the boss! (my wife of 23 years)
Heck, she even likes the Jeep thing. It gets me out of her hair a weekend or so a month, and its cheaper than most of my other hobbies.

I've been there 16 years and never knew a Capt. Caruso..... are you certain he worked for Jeffco? I kinda doubt it - I know pretty much everyone there.

Well Troy, it does suck when your job assignment changes. Obviously I'm no cop, but that is a drastic change to go from the streets to a box. And from one end of enforcement to the other.

It all pays the same. At least you only have to worry about shanks now instead of bullets! I'm really trying here Troy...

I work 12's and I love them. Yes I don't do anything else on shift days, but I love my time off. I have no idea how M-F, 9 to 5er's do it. Try to take advantage of what you have. Go wheel! Hit me up, I always have time off!
