Welding question

Are me and Frank the only professional welders here? I manage a 50,000sq/ft structural steel fab shop BTW. :dunce: I guess they'll have to do they're own penetration tests to find the answer themselves.

I'm just a big dummy with a stick in his hand. If I have gas...I hope you happen to be upwind from me.

Our specs limit us to low-Hydrogen rod and (like the OP) flux core wire. We use what we gots and we makes it work without any fancy-schmancy stuff that removes us from the thought process. :lecture:

I'm happy with the answer I gave to Fred. He may not be happy with it, but his goal is attainable with the equipment in his possesion.

I make good money and have access to very good benefits, that is the only great part of a Federal job! I actually have two, I work for DOD and DOJ.

I work for the tresaury, but for some reason I get paid from the dept. Of agri. It is weird but yes federal benifits are the sheet!
