I finally got back to my D30 sleeve & truss project after almost a year. Cutting the tube tomorrow for the sleeves. I want to make the tubes as long as possible so they butt up against both the axle center section and the inner C's. Of course this means that the innner C's will ONLY be welded to the original tube on the outboard side where the axle sticks through the C. I would then weld the axle sleeve to to the C on the inboard side and gain additional restraint on the C through the sleeves rosette welds to the original tube. I see no reason why this shouldnt work just fine and be plenty strong enough.
Anyone see any reason why welding the C to the end of the tube and the to the sleeve on the other side wont be strong enough?
