Weld in cage kits

Yea my tube hugs the body so close you can barely get an oh shit handle on it. Still I was moving too much in my seat for comfort.

That just means you need different seats and harnesses. Man, I'll say that's definitely on my top 3 favorite modifications to my Jeep.

Corbeau Baja SS (Q-tec) and Racequip harnesses (Ebay).

Yea I have a seat but to make it fit I either have to modify my tunnel, 203/205 flat bellied, or chop the top...... ;)

How different is the seat/ tunnel from stock? My corbeaus are a little close to the B pillar and I did have to massage the tunnel a little to retain full sliding ability of the seat track.

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the D&C cage. I need to call T&J on my lunch break again, but I'm ready to do it soon. Biggest thing I am concerned with now is how to weld the d pillar to the foot plate with my tank box right there

Room is tight, can't fit the welding gun in there...

Since I put the cage in my seat don't slide all the way back. I set it where I wanted it and put the cage against the back of the seats. They still slide forward about 4 inches though.

The T&J cage D pillar welds to the top of the fender well. Not the floor.

When I actually get around to reinforcing the floor plates on my cage I'm not sure how to do that one.

I figured I would lose a lot of sliding room, but that's fine.

You have the pillar at the top of the fender well and another one at the very back, right? Like above the shackle box.

I got ahold of T&J. It's $699 plus shipping of ~$200-$250 across the country and it is mild steel for that price.

Gonna call D&C after work and talk to them too.

Well steel has gone up and inflation blah blah blah. I'm still leaning towards the D&C kit. Even in DOM it is cheaper by a hair. With enough triangulation, I think HREW would work well in a flop with the right floor bracing. Not a SRRS flip, but a flop.

Will, the guy in getting my cage done by is really reasonable. Look him up on Facebook at Craig siler or s&d fabrication in Dallas, ga. Not to far from you. Tell him I sent ya and he will cut a deal. I you want his number text me. I will give it to ya.

I haven't tried calling D&C, but by just selecting the cage and putting it in their online shopping cart I went to the checkout page. Says shipping is a flat rate $105, so $555 to my door unless someone knows a way to get a better deal from them. Wendy says I can go ahead and get it for my "2 years of not smoking, Father's Day and 16th anniversary gifts all in one :-) and then we can go wheelin and make more memories" present lol

Pretty cool guys. I talked to Chris for a while after work today. The foot plates are 5x4 3/16 with 4 3/8 holes in them for tying in under the floor. The foot plates have beleved edges and rounded corners for easier welding. They dont give anymore discount since they say it is already cheap. I'm about to order me one from them.

Differant materials = differant SOB (Start of bend).
I have two differant color marks on my dies, one for HREW, one for DOM.

Ah. Thank you. I didnt know it would effect the start of the bend, i just figured the wall thickness would.

I really want to copy Lowranges chop when the cage is in, i just cant find anything suitable for a top over the rear cargo area.

A small ammount, probably 1/4" differance between DOM and HREW... but that 1/4 x2 for the bends at both ends is 1/2".

When i did my first tube bending, i was allways CLOSE, but not perfect. So me being lazy and cheap (DOM is expensive), i'd make things work... but i was allways chasing my tail over that 1/4-1/2". Really annoying.

It just takes time and remnants. Once you get it right, your there! Hope you marked the die! LOL
