Go natural? Ever seen the special on TLC called " The man who's arms exploded" ? Small little fellow named Greg Valentino who sits 5'5" from New York. Had small man's syndrome which later turned into 'bigorexa' as the Dr. called it. Went natural at first... was always self concious about how he looked. Even though he was huge especially for his size, it wasn't sufficient. So... he started on the juice... Got to the point where his biceps measured 26"-28"...Got to the point where the performance enhancer made his arm go kapoot! And... pretty much exploded. I believe it was a hematura he developed in his arm.. he tried draining it with a syringe for 20 minutes... his bathroom looked like a murder scene with all the blood. He ended up going to have emergency surgery....Oh yeah, he holds the world record for biggest arms..

Not saying this will happen to you... but the stuff that crap can do to your body isn't worth being able to be beefier or look more toned or whatever you want it to do for you. Try adjusting your diet and working out more...

Before...

After...

He looked like that because he injected his muscles with synthol. A oil based substance that makes the muscle belly apear larger. Steroids do not do that!

Protein is the key!!! At the time, I had been lifting for probably 1 year, one of my favorite exercises was the behind the neck military press. I had kinda plateaued out @ 135 lbs for 3-4 reps for at least a month, just couldn't do any more. Well, I started taking EAS Myoplex protein shakes(3 per day) on Monday(shoulder day), didn't change anything else, the following Monday (1 week later) I did 9 reps! I was sold!!! If that doesn't prove protein is the key..... then I don't know what else to tell you, it worked for me! I increased my food diet to take as much protein as I could cram in, plus my 3 shakes a day, now keep in mind, all that protein is gonna make your turds like rocks! lol! I wouldn't bother with creatine, just stick with the protein.

Very true. You should be consumeing 1-1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. With carbs it should be approximately 2grams per lb. Split protein/carbs/fats in a 40/40/20 % split. Watch very closly the carbs you consume, and take in healthy fats.

All Muscletech products are overpriced. Do you want a weightgainer or just protein. FOr Protein I would go with ON Whey...

"ON Whey" is the optimum 100% Whey I mentioned earlier. I agree with the Muscletech part they just add creatine to their whey and jack up the price.

1gram of protein per pound of total body weight or just non-fat body weight? Ive been doing one pound per total so far.

That is fine. If you are trying to cut though, you should up the protein intake and scale the carb intake back slightly.

How far on the protein, theat 1-1.5 grams is a hell of a lot of protein for me?

At least 1.5 grams. You should be getting most of your protein from whole foods though. The shakes should only be used to suppliment! So at least three whole food meals, and then three shakes. Or four meals and two shakes like I do. My protein sources are listed below. My carb intake consits of brown rice, wheat bread, and veggies. That is all I eat! Boring but it works.

This is what I do. I'm in a bulking stage, I have a very fast metabolisim so I need extra calories. My weight varies between 185-190 lbs. I'm 6'1"

3500-4000 calories a day

Meal

1 = shake 21 g

2 = meal 30 g (chicken)

3 = meal 30 g (fish)

workout

4 = shake 52 g

5 = meal 40-50 g (beef)

6 = meal 30 g (chicken)

What do you guys think of muscle milk? I got a deal for 70% or so because its going to expire in a year or something and just had to get it. Its got a lot of fat in it but they claim it gets burned quickly. And on a side note, the Cellmass by BSN has been working great, first time in a year or two when I got past that plateau. Amazing stuff, but I think you have to cycle it with a month on, month off, etc.

A couple kids in my dorm have this stuff, tastes great. They've got 10 pounds bags they say they get for $70 or so. Its a big initial investment but it'd prolly last.

I had good results with muscle milk in HS I'm not using it right now because I'm cutting atm and don't want all the fat

My reaction is to say that supplements are not needed if you are eating a healthy diet and working out properly.

If you want to build muscle (usable muscle, not pretty muscle), start doing Crossfit. Watch some videos on it; it'll make you tired just looking at it.
