I don't need to prove anything to you. It's my right. You can't have it, I'm busy using it. Sorry to disappoint you. A ban on anything may not "hurt" you at all, it may not affect you in the least. But it would affect me, and since I am also a law abiding citizen, that's wrong.
Luckily for you, I'm not trying to take anything away from you that is rightfully yours- if you choose to not own any weapons, fine by me. It's YOUR choice. But it is *not* YOUR choice to decide for me whether or not I own any weapons.

you realize they won't make you turn in your gun, just stop sales of certain kinds, for two years i spent the first few hours of work shooting a rifle and I have no issue with gun ownership i just don't understand the whole "they are going to take every gun ever made from us" mentality

If you're ok with not being allowed to buy a certain kind of rifle, that's fine. However, there's NO reason (at least, none that realistically holds any water in a practical sense) that I should be banned from buying whatever that rifle may be.
Also, if they won't make me turn in my ARs, if I owned any, Ok, fine. Maybe it doesn't affect ME, now. However, if I have children someday and they are good people and want to buy an AR, why shouldn't they be able to? The answer is, they SHOULD be able to.
You said banning a certain kind of gun or guns wouldn't affect you...ok. Just because it wouldn't directly and immediately affect you doesn't mean that it is a good idea, or that it's something that you ought to be ok with. Oh, and to keep this P.C. since everyone's so :bawl: prone around here....in *my* opinion. I understand you're allowed to have your own opinion on the subject. Just for the record, thought I'd put that out there

i could care less if one or all guns were or weren't banned, the NRA made a good point saying there should be armed police/guards at all schools, there are officers in my family that have already donated their free time before/after this recent event walking the halls
this whole idea isn't the end of the world for either side....unless you are a mayan

well... I have no problem saying it myself. It's positively true. A weapons ban really would only hurt law abiding citizens. As we all know, criminals will blatantly ignore it. Of course, no debating that. And if you say I ought to be allowed to keep whatever guns I currently have- because I'm a law abiding citizen- then why should the generation that follows me be denied the option of owning the very same, even if they prove themselves to also be upstanding, law abiding citizens? There is no good reason for it.
Most walmart's are sold out of semi-automatic rifles, and they're selling like hotcakes on eBay. Nope nothing wrong there.

You cannot buy firearms on eBay, only gun parts and accessories. They don't allow high-capacity mags either. Not trying to start an argument, just making sure everyone's on the same page.
