I am usually good about washing and waxing my jeep to keep it looking good. My roof and tops of my fenders are really starting to fade....If I wash it and then throw a good coat of wax on it, its looks pretty good....anything I can do to try and reverse the fading without getting it re painted...which i might do at some point, but this being my DD it would be hard to do all the prep work myself and then have someone paint it.

is it fading or is the clear coat peeling/flaking? if the clearcoat is seperating from the base, there's no fix other than repaint. if it's just oxidized, you can wet sand it and buff it, or just buff it if it isnt too bad yet. Then use a good wax once or twice a year.

I think the clearcoat is peeling...It looks like sun damage to me. I went for a while when i have my MK3 and pretty much neglected my jeep and never really washed/waxed it...I am paying for it now...

just some adivce, take care of it before it gets too bad. the previous owner let my jeep go, and all the clear was peeling. i had to sand it ALL off in order to repaint, otherwise the new paint came off with it. this is a royal paint in the ass, especially around door handles, trim, roof rain gutters, windows, center of the hood, etc.
i'd get to it while you still may be able to sand up to clear that is still in good shape and feather it out, because there was no way of doing so on mine.
