Wanted: battery

Where, and, how long ago?

I was at my local recycle yesterday. I pointed to a pallet with two and asked how much they pay for the Optimas. His reply was "17 cents a pound."

Well I imagine as with all recyclables, it depends on the market at the time. I haven't turned in an Optima in probably a year. I do my non-ferrous recycling at All Recycling in Englewood. I recall asking the guy about batteries and he said dry cell batteries pay better than acid core.

Same with aluminum wheels. I've been paid over $120 and as little as $27 for a set of 4.

I'm hearing that currently pay out for whole and partial cars per ton is at an all time low. A couple weeks ago, My buddy Terry took an XJ unibody loaded with brake rotors, pads, shoes, 3 engine blocks, several heads and other scrap and got $75. That ain't worth the time and fuel.......

Scrap metal is not paying squat, backside of my garage looks like a junk yard because like what Yella said, not worth the time or fuel to take it in....... I do have two Interstate group 34's that are top post and I do have one Red top Optima dual terminal I would sell if you get up North.
