Waking the bear-1988 Cherokee

All the ones I have had have the screw on the drum.

If I have enough time on Tuesday, I may try to get that synthetic line installed before we leave for the Crawl.

As you can see in the 2025 Crawl thread, the XJ made it to and from Harlan but not without some issues popping up that need to be looked into.

1. Correcting the belt/pulley issue - this is first on the list. I need to order another Dorman 34237 AC delete pulley assembly as a backup. Drew determined my pulleu on my current unit has too much play and no one seems to stock just the pulley by itself. I'm going to mess around with this more.

2. Door hinge reinforcement brackets - my passenger from door hinges are wanting to peel off. I found two companies that make them.

Hooligan: https://www.hooliganoffroad.com/collections/xj/products/xj-door-hinge-support
CFM Fab: https://cfmfab.com/products/jeep-xj-cherokee-front-door-hinge-reinforcement-plates-pair

I'm temped to go Hooligan since they are designed around both the 84-96 and 97-01 style hinges. They are a bit cheaper and shipping is included in the price.

3. Tail lights - I either need to swap in another tail light or possible convert to tail light boxes. Taboo Customers was looking to offer some for the 84-96 body, so I may hit them up. I can upgrade to LED's while I'm at it.

4. Air filter upgrade - I've been wanting to get rid of my stock airbox since it's a pain to get in there to change filters and access the belt tensioner junk. Thinking about this kit unless someone knows of something better for a Renix: https://www.rustysoffroad.com/collections/intakes/products/rustys-airtube-xj-cherokee-1

5. Long arms: I've been thinking about upgrading to long arms for better flex/travel/ride. The bad part is I'll need to upgrade my trackbar as the one I have now won't have enough travel. And once I go long arms, there is no going back. I've been eyeing the Iron Rock Off Road Rock-Link setup. https://www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/xj-rock-link-front-long-arm-upgrade.html

6. I'd like to upgrade to some 33/1250R15 tires (mostly for increased track width for stability) and some cool bronze steel wheels as a throwback. https://www.roughcountry.com/product/steel-wheel-rc158545b

I'm sure I can keep thinking of more and more stuff to upgrade and modify the longer I ponder. I will eventually need an engine replacement and a replacement hatch (both of which I already have).
