Hey guys, I am "freshining" up my 87 Wagoneer with a fresh paint job and wanted to replace the woodgrain on the sides ( my left rear door has a small drunk bump and there are several nicks). Problem is I cant seem to find it anywhere. My wife suggested contact paper " The kind used in cabinets. Will this work? Any ideas?

2 words: Real wood. Just cut some plywood and screw it on. Done and done. Don't forget to stain it!

If you're going to go with real wood, I noticed a product on Trucks! last weekend you should look into - it was some sort of epoxy they put two coats of onto the planks for a wwoden truck bed, and claimed it would last almost forever. Can't remember the name, tho.

Do the whole truck and play hide and seek in the forest:wierd:

I dont think the real wood is a option. Thanks for the JC Witney idea. Its a lot darker but it does look good.

How about a 2 door Wagoneer? ANyone have pic's, thinking of putting woodgrain on my 93 2 door. Let me know if you have any pic's.

A friend of mine had a 90 Woody that needed the woodgrain replaced. His Jeep was a dark green and he liked to hunt so I suggested some of the Treebark camo stuff that they sell in rolls. He put it on and it was trick! A bit on the redneck side but hey we live in VA. I wish I had some pics but the Jeep is gone now.

Edit; I was going to suggest Team Cherokee but that was done already.

This looks very close to what was on my Burgundy 88 Wagoneer.

From what i remember, it was tough to get new woodgrain side molding. I'v seen some home shows where they paint a steel door and use a sponge or something to give it a wood grain appearance.
