Hi, I'm building a high pinion axle for my XJ. What I want to do is find a Dana 44 from a 70's Ford and retube for Waggy NT axle shafts. This way I'll have the width I want and can run standard length axle shafts and it'll be high pinion. Does anyone know the exact tube lengths for each side? Or is there a website or CAD drawing with these measurements I can look at? Thanks

warn has the axle shaft lenghts on thier website. but that wont be your tube lenght. You would need to subtract some as they measure the shaft from center of u joint to the end.

I've never done it before but couldn't you measure the Ford Axles from the same reference points as how the warn axles are measured for the waggy axles and subtract the difference and that difference is how much you need to cut off you axle tubes to get them to fit.

Warn's site lists the sizes for both the Waggy axles and the Ford axles. Subtract the difference and that how much you need to narrow the housing.

This is a common modification now-a-days. Search thoroughly and you'll find what you're looking for:

as mentioned above, you just subtract the difference. I just finished doing this. My notes say:
ford inner axles:33.91,18.91, waggy axles (late model narrow track) 32.12,15.8
difference 1.78 on long tube , 3.11 on short tube
I even have the part numbers for Yukon waggy Chromoly inners:
Yukon ya w39459, and ya w39461
