I fail to see how someone destroying a jeep equates to winning ROTM? No offense to him or his rig. I just don't see how that is a qualifier.
I used to pound my jeeps into the ground too. Then I grew up and got a little smarter.

None taken. I don't see it as a qualifier either, but they're good friends and want to see me win ( thanks for the support guys!)

I don't think what I'm doing is dumb, it's just fun. I bought the rig for $1500. If the body falls apart, I'll buy another one and swap everything over. Minimal investment for me :dunno: If I had spent more, then yes I would be much gentler with it.

Up until recently I DD'd it. I got another vehicle just because it was slightly more comfortable and I was hitting harder trails and taking harder lines with my XJ. Can't really bring a heavily dented rig to work anymore.

Again, I don't see what I'm doing as dumb, and I won't get "smarter" if that means taking it easy or the bypass if I think I can make an obstacle. I'm choosing to get into harder wheeling, and that's where I see the fun at.

No offense Dr. Moab as I think your rig is sweet (I even voted for you for ROTM), but the places I go aren't really meant for clean jeeps.

What if they are just a really good driver? :D

I think it is impossible for you to drive over a pebble without getting body damage Rob.

I didn't mean to imply that what you do with your rig is dumb. More to the point that I think voting for a guys Jeep because they beat it up is dumb.

My last two Jeeps were beaters and I used them accordingly. I would hope though that someone wouldn't vote for me only because I beat it up.

BTW...my Yellow rig hasn't exactly seen an easy life. It's been over some of the harder obsticals in Moab along with miles and miles of fast driving over rough dirt and if you looked close you would see that the paint is scratched to shit. In fact I had a branch dig into it hard enough to dent the body just a couple of weeks ago.

I like the Comanche. All of them have blood sweat and tears in 'em, its just the Comanche seems to stand out. It is different than what we usually see around these parts. Truly, I don't think mine would get voted for on here because of the plainness, but I stopped trying to win show and shine when I beat my fender wells in with a hammer. Nice work all of you!

Congratulations to 89eliminator for the win.

Stay tuned for the Rig of the Year vote in December. All of the previous winners will compete for the title of NAXJA Rig of the Year.

If you were a past winner, get ready to post 2 more pics of your rig. The thread will open up sometime around December 1st.

When David gets off his lazy butt and makes it! (Oh yeah thats me, whoops)
