Visiting Colorado next week!

Hey guys, the names Dan, and I'm in Tucson, AZ and will be escaping the heat (it's already hit 106 here last weekend) to visit my girlfriend who lives near the Centennial/Aurora area. I'm driving up and staying probably around 10 days, and was hoping to maybe go hit up a couple trails with her and maybe do some camping (we've both got red xjs, and to everyones surprise she really knows how to drive) and I was wondering what trails are worthwhile up there. My gf goes to school down here in Tucson, and only got into wheeling last August, so she's never really hit any trails up there. I'm not looking for the hardest trails up there, but I wouldn't say I'm necessarily looking for the easiest ones either as we do like to have some fun; I'm locked on 33s and she's open on 31s (and drives shit I watch most guys on 31/32s get strapped out of haha.)

the last trail we ran down here; martinez canyon in Florence (my recommendation to anyone visiting AZ as its gotta be my favorite trail)

Anyhow, any recommendations would be great, and I love Colorado, so I know anything I'm doing up there I'll be happy to be where I am! If anyone wants any AZ travel advice I'll be indebted as well.... Though no one in their right mind would visit this state during summer. Thanks guys!

You are still a bit early for the nicer trails. We still have a pretty heavy snow pack up high.

Come down to the springs. Hit eagle rock and if yiu have sliders your rig is good for liberty down in penrose.

Snow? hahaha. I really am an Arizonan now... i wouldn't have thought June and Snow and Northern Hemisphere outside the artic circle. Though the gal mentioned some weather and possible snow even this morning, I thought it was crazy talk. But yeah, spring creek looks awesome, and I'll have to look up Liberty. We've both got sliders (there's no snow, and not a lot of water down here, but we've definitely got rocks here too lol.) Thanks for posting up suggestions guys! We'd probably be down for a trail run that's going on up there if you know of any going on between the 17th and the end of June as well. I'll keep looking back to this thread. I'm kinda excited to see snow if I can during June! I'll have to pack more then my sandals and shorts which seems crazy to me right now.

I can run eagle rock with ya on the 20th if you're interested. She may need a strap at one spot just cuz she's open/open but rest is Fun and not difficult.
We will be in penrose running a couple of trails there ( including liberty). Liberty should feel like home, it's a bunch of rocks, flat, and is a 33/one locker/sliders minimum trail. Let me know if you're interested.

There are some pics from both liberty and eagle rock in our 'trip reports' area.

that sounds most interesting to me at this point, so i might have to take ya up on going along with you guys. I'll keep the saturday spring creek thing in mind and talk to the woman about what she wants to do and get back to ya guys ;) She's out of cell phone reach with the family for the next couple days, but Liberty does sound awesome. I'll have to go look at some more pics in your trip report area.

Ya man just give me a heads up on it. I don't have plans to run anything the 20th but if yiu were wanting a run up eagle rock I'd be down to go up. Sure I could get some other guys to join too.

hey guys! sorry I haven't posted up till now; got in last wednesday and we found ourselves in wyoming from thursday through saturday. We did go out Sunday to spring creek, but ended up just doing it with the 2 of us and her dad for a fathers day thing. I'd definitely like to meet up with some of you guys still though, as we're definitely looking to do some wheeling in the next week again maybe at a place called Left Hand Canyon near Red Cone Pass that a guy on the trail sunday was telling us would be challenging but we could get the 31s/33s through alright. Any of you guys interested in doing that/have an opinion on the trail?
