Violence spilling across the border; 4 dead from wedding

This isn't about jobs, it's about criminals. Do you really think that the guy in that article you posted awhile back was looking for legitimate employment? Come on, man. You know better.

Disagree. Jobs = Money. The illegal immigration problem is about money. If there were no jobs available to them they would immigrate somewhere else. But OK for discussion let's just take the criminal aspect. The law makes it a criminal act to hire, transport and/or harbor illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants are already criminal just by moving here without going through the legal process of immigrating. Now we created an additional set of criminals, US citizens who hire, transport and/or harbor illegal immigrants.

So...doesn't this AZ law make the owners of Pro-Ranch Markets criminal? What is happening to them? As US citizens and opponents to illegal immigration what are we doing about Pro Ranch Markets?

We all know we need workers for all types of jobs we wont do. Close the borders, stop the influx, enforce the laws. We need to make a good work program so we can get the low paying work done and they go home. Works for us, work for Mexico. If you get caught he illegally, you are never allowed back.

There are already laws on the books (and have been long before SB 1070) which fine businesses here in AZ who "knowingly" hire and pay illegals. The problem in enforcing it is in the "knowingly" part. I don't feel like reiterating it all here, so if you feel inclined to read more, ARS 23-212 :

It goes far beyond the job issue here. There are 460,000 KNOWN illegal people here in AZ. They have access to the same health care, same city services (fire/police), education, etc that I do as a tax payer. So the large majority of the financial burden for these people is left to the legal citizens of AZ. We see our our quality of life suffering because there are far to many hands taking from the pot than putting in. The feds aren't adding anything to the pot. No other states are supporting our 460,000 KNOWN illegals.

The one thing you don't hear is the fact that there is a huge population of LEGAL hispanics here in AZ. People who have done things the right way and obtained legal standing here. They spent a good amount of time, money, and energy obtaining that status and are extremely proud of it (and should be) - and here their neighbors are, enjoying the same benefits they are (education, health care, jobs, etc.) after they snuck over in a truck. What a slap in the face. This law just further legitimizes those from south of the border who have done things the right way.
