vehicle requirements for White City/Medford Oregon

Im moving there soon and want to be able to keep my jeep legal. Are there special requirements like fender flares for lifted vehicles or what not? how about smog inspection, I have a rebuilt motor but what all do I need? we dont have smog checks in Hawaii but we have a yearly saftey inpection that covers the basics like brakes, lights and horn, for modified vehicles we have a reconstruction permit that has a whole bunch of rules. Anything like that up there?

They have smog checks, but it depends on the actual city you live in. I know Medford and Central Point require it for 1972 and newer vehicles. Deisels over a certain GVW (1 tons +) are exempt. They don't check the other stuff.

Thanx for the info, for the smog do they do a visual? or just a sniffer? I have all new sensors and a rebuilt motor so i should pass, just not sure what all I need to put back on the motor.

If you have an obII port, they hook into that, otherwise just the sniffer. They also have a mirror to do a visual for a CAT (so they don't have to bend over), but don't always use that. And usually they even don't lift the hood.

But, it's been a couple years since I've lived there.

Also, My buddy has a full size Chevy with 40 series flowmasters - he failed because of sound. They did just start testing for sound (99 decibles if I remember right).
