vehicle inspection anxiety

I live in Finland. I drive a '91 Honda 1.3L. We have tight vehicle inspection.
1) I have a stumble at 2k rpm, don't know why. This will cause me to fail the test.
2) I smell raw fuel whenever the car is running. no obvious cause. this also will fail
3) How do I check my o2 sensor?
I must pass inspection this coming week, if i fail, they take my license plates. So all advice, tips, tricks, suggestions or flames are well appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You don't have a chance to fix it before they take the plates? what kind of BS is that? Around here you get a failed sticker and have something like a week or a month to fix things and get a free reinspection...

You can check the o2 sensor by checking the voltages at the heater and output signal - check your Haynes/Chilton or factory service manual for expected values.

EDIT: for the fuel I'd go over it checking for leaks... maybe get one of those hose pinchers and stop off the gas right after the pump, see if you smell it, keep moving it further down the fuel plumbing till the smell starts showing up stronger, then use process of elimination.

I have no idea on the stumble.

Emissions is critical in the Eu, a stumble means excess emissions, readable excess emissions is not acceptable. They take the plates immediately. I have verified no fuel leakage, good timing. Maybe incomplete combustion, overly rich condition. Plugs show as clean though. I maybe thought the 1 wire O2 has stopped doing it's job. Damn Europe! Just a raw fuel smell with no verifiable source...
