The dates are set for trail maintenance in Uwh NF. I'd like all the folks who use the place to donate at least one weekend this year.

Thanks!

are you going to the class sat night?

Class? Edumicate me!

The class is postponed a week...new dates 1-30 & 1-31.

This is a safety class for operating USFS' equipment on trail maintenance days. They have limited space available and only want two from each group attending (so not to overwhelm the trainers & facility) It won't just be 4x4 affiliated folks there... This is why I didn't list it in the above schedule... it is NOT an open-to-the-public class.

There 'may not' be room for us either...but since I am 1/2 hr away from them, I'll be there Friday evening anyway... NBDfor me if I get turned around at the door.

so you can run the power stuff.

Nothing like a screaming tool that eats anything in its path in your hands! Did I mention that I used my birthday money on a new 18" chain saw? Watch out trees!

Hey guys,
I'll mark the calender for the above dates. I'll make sure I help out in some way.
Might need a ride into the jobsite, tho.
I'll bring a c'saw too, but I'll need an extra length of extension cord(haha).

just let me know and you can ride with me,

I'll be at one of the first two.....

Just not sure which one or weather or not it will be for both days. Just as long as I do not have to ride with "One side it Woody!" LOL!

Latest update on UNF Feb workday

Received this email today and passing it along... I don't think anyone needs to bring a chainsaw...just comfotrable/seasonal work clothes, boots & gloves, plus some drinks, sack lunch, snacks.:

Thanks & hope to see you there.

"We plan to work on Daniel (weather permitting)...

We plan to make a bypass for the quads around the one
switchback that has become fun to all of us but dangerous for
them... We also plan to add some fencing in areas as
needed... Again, all of the above depends on the weather
between now and then... We also have plenty to do at/near
trailheads so even if we have bad weather between now and
then the work weekend will go ahead as scheduled...

No riding privilages will be granted for this weekend...

vehicles Sat/Sun if needed to make sure everyone gets a
chance to work inside the trail system...

We hope to see you all there helping out...

Work Schedule

i'M NOT GOING TO MAKE THE FIRST WEEKEND, I GET TO BE IN BISMARCK AND FARGO, NO. DAKOTA :passgas:
SEE YOU NEXT WEEKEND, I GUESS......

this being my first one of these, and since i dont know any of you guys ( i guess my best bet would be to look for all the big cherokees  ) i'm still a little hazy on the details of this outing.

where do we meet? when? all that good stuff

*Edit* ok i just read the first post. im a retard

We will be meeting each morning at "Eldorado Outpost" at
9:00am that is the store on 109 near the trails. most likely i'll be there both sat and sun in a purple XJ, the leader has a blue ford ranger.

Working out the details for the next work weekend. Anyone going on the 20-21?

I'll be there on Saturday... My trail rig is still "under construction" so I'll either sneak my DD XJ in there or just bum a ride into the woods. Here's the latest scoop:

"We plan to work around the big hill on Dutch John to try and
remidy the erosion problem... We will be closing off the
illegal bypass that is dangerous and possibly making a legal
bypass that is safer... As always with the winter work
weekends, weather permitting... Any overflow we may have over
the 10 vehicle limit will be working around trailheads or as
needed... If we have more than 10 vehicles we will rotate
vehicles to make sure everyone has a fair chance to work on
the trail system...

Free Camping will be given at Arrowhead Campground on site 6
and 7 with more room available if deemed nessecary... No
riding privilages will be given for this weekend because the
trails are still temporarily closed for the season...

Thanks for your time and we hope to see you there...

Save me a seat Woody! I'll be coming up Saturday Morning with a couple locals. Plan is to be at Elderado around 9:00, is that where they are meeting? Do they usually have more than 10 vehicals? One of the locals was asking me about that? Also, how about we do the hand off thing? The jeep is running great with the new driveline and I am dying to get up there in April. Oh yea, I got a slight front axle leak so she will be loked in the front soon. It's funny how axle seals can be soooo expensive! LOL!
