Uttermost Off Road

I just went on a restroom break, and god called while I was out. Left me a green mini NT bible, prayer beads and a card for the nearest baptist church.

I could go away -- and leave some of you sitting before your computers all smug and satisfied, thinking that you, somehow, made that nasty God-loving man stop.

Then again, I could just start quoting Bible verses for a couple more pages..

What to do? Wwhat to do? Decisions, decisions...

Ok, I've decided...

One last thing.

Stuff in this universe that is TRUE does not go away just because someone decides that they do not believe it. True stuff remains true, for all people, for all times, for all places.

Some of you have a difficult time with that sort of thought, becasue you think that YOU make up the reality of your world. I'd thing that you have a lot to learn yet, but you'll have to find that out for yourselves along the way.

What I do recommend is that you all go out and get really rich and really satisfied while you still know it all. I'm sure that not a one of you is going to have marriage problems or problems with your kids some day -- that never happens to you -- right?

I'm also sure that you will never loose your jobs, or worse --for those things only happen to "stupid people" and most of you are SO smart.

What I've learned over the past 20 years in the ministry is that SOMEDAY something will happen in your life -- something so out of control, so out of your ability to deal with it -- that you will turn to someone like me, sitting in an office in a church somewhere. It's inevitable. I know, I see folks like this every day.

The sad thing is that they come in AFTER the damage has been done. The guys come AFTER their wife has left them for another man. The women come AFTER their "bad boy" man has had his most recent affair. They come AFTER their kids are hooked on dope, after their daughters are pregnant, and after they have had a couple kids out of wedlock -- wondering why God hates them...

It's always the say story... "I was just doing what everyone else was doing..." Generally followed by, "Why are THEY succesful and I/we suck?"

Truth is truth -- no matter how you slice it, and the truth is that in this world there are trials and temptations. The truth is that people are sinners -- and worse still, most like it -- until it catches up with them. Then they just get unhappy and angry at the same God that they would not acknowledge earlier.

Some, however, discover the author of the truth -- and they turn to Him. What they discover is that God is in the business of REBUILDING torn and damaged relationships -- and that God is in the business of restoring PARADISE, which we lost, yet hunger for. To those, who have discovered this truth, also discover the truth -- and they are set free to be exactly who they were created to be. They also wonder why it took them so long, and why others cannot see what they now see... But alas, most don't see until it is too late, for most blame the chuch for brainwashing people, while they watch Bart Simpson (a cartoon no less) explain life to them... Sort of weird to me, but what do I know... I'm just one of those that has discovered the truth -- and it HAS set me free.

I'm off to other tasks -- this little debate has taken some valuable time out of my schedule, but I thought it worthwhile. Those of you that have PM'd me and responded in a postitive manner know who you are -- thanks! For the rest, I can only hope that you discover what we've discovered before it is too late.

jesus tapdancing christ

I will re-state that you are welcome to meet people here with whom you share interest. This is not, however, a recruiting office.

you speak of truth, truth, and truth........

when someone says god talks to them now, what do you say? ( psycho)

5000 years ago someone said "god talks to me" and not knowing anthing of mental illness the guy he was talking to says, " oh really, who's that?" and religion is born. a book is written, other people chime in....(same thing happened with UFO phenomenon) and suddenly its all truth. No proof, there's a conspiracy to cover it all up!

YOUR BS is NOT TRUTH, it is meerely what it takes to make you comfortable in this world, you know......a bed of bullshyt. fire and brimstone for anyone who disbelieves in your god.

and the pharoahs heart was hardened again.

Yep...Snake oil salesman. What a fawking wack-job! I think there's more to your "rock bottom" then what you're telling us. Remember, "rock bottoms" are self inflicted. Losing your kid doesn't fall under that catagory. :looser: :looser: :looser:

glfredrick, dude, you are wasting your time typing up a bunch of BS that no one takes to heart or cares about. How about you and your God take a long walk off a short pier, thanks. That is my .01 cent, because my .02 cents are not worth it.

How do we know our Christian God is the correct author of this truth? Because we say He is? What if we have it all backwards and the Muslims (or any other group for this matter) are right? One thing I never understood is how people can say they are about forgiveness and happy feelings, but as soon as someone else's group speaks up and says "Well, we're glad you know the way of God, but [important name here] wasn't the real prophet. Sorry." they get bent out of shape and pray for the other group's salvation because they are "wrong" and "sinners". Wrong to who? Us? Sinning in respect to what? Our standards of sin?

As a last note, I guess I fall into the category of Christians because I believe it was Jesus who did the dieing and forgiving, but I do not attend church or listen to preachers. I will make of it what I will. My faith is between me and God. I don't like to say another religion is wrong and then say their ways will lead them to hell because of how I view my group's practices. I just don't agree with their views and I'll let God handle it. It's not my problem.

This just in...

Due to declining membership numbers, a decrease in donations and numerous financial settlements...

God has decided he does like fags after all...

So you're saying nothing bad will ever happen to you after you go to church? Not nitpicking thats just how that sounded to me. But what do I know.

You gotta be one of my fav Pagans, Gil.

Yup, this is not his first go-around here at NAXJA to recruit "like minded" peoples.... hence my reaction to his newest post. I know some may have been turned off, some probably even whined about it... who cares. If he wants to use NAXJA to grow his cult, he can be a Member and put it in his signature. :)

it seems he just pops on occasionally to recruit, doesn't contribute too much else.

I thought it was a bit harsh at first, then I realized that he was askin for it, response was pretty polite the first time.

I can't speak for Glenn, but I tried to head him off at the pass. He decided to enter into the "pass" anyway.

Warning signs everywhere....

There should be NO SUPRISES as to what happened.
