ok guys, i am looking to buy another used car. am thinking about american made, with first choice being a Chevy Impala, or something similar. something midsize would be ok also. not much of a foreign car fan, but many people say Toyota, and honda are good for the money. i am looking for probably late 90's to early 2k's as for age. any suggestions would be appreciated, or info. on stuff like engine and drivetrain combos to get or stay away from would be helpfull. probably be spending less than 12k i would guess. oh yeah, auto. tranny for sure since wife will be driving it a lot. thanks in advance.

I'm buying 2005 Impalas with 25k miles for around $10,500-$11,000 by the truck load. Decent cars, great reliability, mid 20's mpg... Hard to to wrong for that kind of money. Good luck.

well i posted my original thread about 3 p.m. and the wife said lets go look at cars. well the chevy dealer down the street had an '05 Impala, just what the wife wanted and by 5:30 our time we were driving the thing home. seems like a pretty damn nice car.
