There was someone on here a while ago making the upgraded headlight harness for a price. Was just wondering if anyone is still making them. I know Go-Jeeps website tells how to do it but i dont want to screw it up. Or does anyone know a site to buy a harness. Thanks

I'm working on a prototype.

However, if you're in a hurry, I do recomment Painless Performance for a pre-built harness - I've used their wiring and kits before (to save a good deal of time on project cars!) and have nothing but good to say about them. Be warned - you usually end up paying a fair bit - but you do get what you pay for...

For details on the unit I've got in development, check my website - "Works in Progress by Works in Progress." There's a link in my sig.

You're cool :)
Let me know if you need any help prototyping the headlight wiring harness. I really want one for my 99 XJ. Speaking of which, why don't you have '99 listed for the battery cables? You list 87-98 and 00 to 01 but no 99! :(

Let me know if I can help.

Ok, I upgraded to the IPF headlamp replacements by IPF w/ fatboy X51 bulbs. The difference was pretty crazy, the stock lamps are WEAK. instantly alot brighter and the bulb / replacement H4 accepting lenses are VERY nice! So, with that in mind, plan to spend atleast $150 for this upgrade by this manufacturer. But it doesnt stop there, I added a IPF wire harness to power the lights directly from the battery connections via a relay and the difference in brightness was as much as the initial upgrade, so. http://www.rocky-road.com/ipfH4.html if your going to do it... do it all the way. IPF also makes some pretty sweet offroad lights that are spot flood, and I found them for real cheap on a site with 55 an 110 watt bulbs, This link shows them mounted on a motorcycle but, who cares they are f-ing sweet! also they sell 130w bulbs for them on this site, which I have! :) http://bestrestproducts.com/celestia/order/orderform/?recno=53

That would be simple - I do not yet have measurements for the 99 XJ!

If you would like a set, let me know and I will pass along what needs measuring and how I prefer it done. You end up with cables about 2" longer than OEM, which is not a problem on any other app we have worked out measurements for. I will also be able to tell you what your cables would cost once I know how long they need to be made...

Well I first want to upgrade my headlight wiring. How far along on that are you?

Yaaaah!

I hope to get a prototype going (finally!) this month, and I'll run it on my wife's rig for a while. If all goes according to plan, I'm hoping for release of the thing for 1Q2007.

I need to figure out how much I'll want for it, but I'm currently thinking in the $60-70 range, as long as the costs of materials will hold still (damn copper won't stay put...) and I can rig up a useful tester for fairly cheap (for checking function of the finished product before it goes in the box.)

Performance advantages over the Big Offroad kit? Similar price and goal. Sell me bro! :)

Bundled wiring - you only run a single cable between each location.

Design load of 200W per bulb, per filament.

Individual relays and fuses for each circuit (relays provided, fuses you provide. I don't know what bulbs you're going to run - but there will be a chart for you to refer to.)

Sealed connections - as waterproof as I can make it.

Uses ATC/ATO fuses, just like the rest of your XJ.

Uses DIN Bosch/Hella relays, just like the rest of your XJ.

Designed for the XJ - not a "generic" unit.

"Plug And Play" installation - no splicing of signal wires. There will be a male pigtail that plugs into the OEM harness for the right headlamp, and that's how it gets its signals.

Removes the load from the headlamp switch, reducing chances of burnout.

That's all I can think of for the moment - I'm up to my neck in Dana BoM numbers right now, and planning how to cut up that 89 I've got in the garage. I'll be happy to answer any other questions, tho...

The quality here makes it worthwhile. I had a heck of a problem with mine due to the fact that the spliced (crimped) connections I made had an intermittent in it. Do you have any idea what its like driving down an unlit road at 40 mph and having your lights go out? Not fun. All my connections are now soldered.
