update on my rig!!

Looks good. That rear tire swing looks familiar. Did that thing come from the Ontario Pic-a-part? If so, those inner fender mounts got my blood all over them. I tried to yank that thing with John and it kicked my ass. Someone had tried to yank it before I got there and stripped and bent everything. Made me CRAZY!!

:looser::clap:yup from ontario but i brought my tool bag which included a cordless drill and a unibit.. drilled the screwheads out.... i took the carrier and saw that everything else was stripped so came back with the unibit....

I saw one of those tire carries this past weekend. How sturday are they? can they hold a 33" tire? does it wobble?

From what I saw it looked rather sturdy as long as you get all the bracketry and plating that goes inside the rear fender. You have to access it from inside the vehicle. That is the area I cut myself up. I couldn't get the bolts, brackets, and plates out. If you just bolt the swing to the sheet metal on the upper part it will probably yank out the first time you swing it all the way open.

yeah its pretty sturdy i have a 33 on it now i just had to put longer wheel stud in.. and as for the brakets.. brad is right.. i put a fat backing plate inside the side panel to spread the weight .. but it works goods doesnt budge.. i did i run out by fort irwin with family and no probs...

Wow. That thing is PIMP!

Not sure that one would fit your/Johns rig anyway. the 97+ have a different style rear tire carrier. I know cause I modded a 97+ to fit my 92. It wasn't pretty but it worked. kind of!

i can make it fit... my jeep wasnt set up for it but with some mod it worked fine
