UNF news does anyone know about this?

It would appear that the Ranger Station doesn't want the responcibility of collecting the $$$.
The eaisest way to get all of your questions answered is to call the Ranger office. The # was listed in that post

Well i talk to the rangers station today and they said that you will no longer be able to pay at the trail head. There will be different location in troy to buy them(which ones i do not know) but you will be able to get them from Eldorado Post. You can also send in a check through the mail but it will take a couple of months to get it.....Just some info for you.

Just an FYI

CNC.4x4.org will be pre-selling passes on there website starting very soon
You will be able to paypal or send a check to them and they will send you a pass back in the mail before the season opens.

That way you will not have to worry about getting one ahead of time

Glad to hear that your club will be vendors for the passes, and thanks  to CNC for taking that on!

Folks getting to the Ranger Station during USFS M-F 'bankers' hours (for the season passes) has been a hassle for many. OTOH it's surprising: I went by there @2pm last April 1st - opening day- and I got pass #35 IIRC. The sweet old Aprentice Ranger Secretary Grade 1 lady nuked about 1/2 hr of my wheelin time filling out the info page & pass & xeroxing my NCDL  I wonder how long it took for #1-34?

For single-day trailriders, the day-use passes will be sold at several local retailers...including the Eldorado Outpost. It'll cut down on a lot of the weekend log-jam at the trailheads IMHO.
