what would cause my steering to turn more to the right than the left. There is no binding or hitting of the stablizer, or hitting anything for that matter. But I am getting a noticable amount of less steering when cranked to the left than the right. Any ideas ????

Need more information about the vehicle. Lifted? How much? New Parts? What are they? What kind of vehicle?

Mine does this too...

Mine is fine on the street in 2wd but when in 4wd with the front (spooled) 37in tires, I get verry little left turn and ok right turn. Its not like its just binding, it just wont turn much at all?

I have a stock pittman arm, and a dana 60 front with a high steer arm made to work correctly with leafs and the factory pittman arm. Like I said It works fine in 2wd. The box mounts are plated so they dont flex.

I added a tranny cooler, that didnt help.
Next step is to pull my power steering pump and shim the spring for more pressure. Then take my box apart replace afew seals and dril and tap it for a hydrolic assist ram or double ram.

I think the spool killed it.

Ok so here is the info lifted 6.5" grand cherokee pitman arm (1" longer than stock) stock drag link and RE tie rod with 33s. The pitman arm is not centered and the drag link adjuster sleeve is screwed pretty far out on the pitman arm TRE and the steering wheel is a little cocked to the right. I think I just answered my own question!!! So should I just count how many rotations to each side of the steering wheel and adjust the drag link sleeve so I have equel amounts of left and right. None of the parts are new its been like this for about a year and I just now got around to it.

good to know ashman, I'm gonna run my D44 spooled with 35s, but I was already planning on hydro assist and possibly pumping up the pump's performance.

It also didnt help, that on the first test run behind the neighborhood my front hubs got stuck locked so (spooled) and I had to drive it home like that through the nighborhood!!! whine whine...chirp chirp.."puking fluid now", WHIIINE WHINE CHIRP, "almost there, just puked more fluid"...woops.

Dude, just adjust your drag link till the steering wheel is straight...then your pittman arm will be centered when going straight.

1. point wheels straight
2. remove draglink from pitman arm
3. make sure column is unlocked
4. push pitman arm to centered position
5. adjust draglink to go into pitman arm without moving pitman arm
6. done

you could do it by rotations of the wheel, but I think it's easiest to do it like above.

Im at +6"'s of lift and I had to add about an 1-1/4" to the sleeve to get my steering back to center and have a full set of threads!
