Under Hood splice for only when ignition on

OK I want to add running lights on my 2000 XJ. Anybody help for where I can splice into an easy access wire that is only hot when running? Not going to run lights from there but use it to activate a relay. THANKS IN ADVANCE

have you thought about a fuse tap and using a fuse location in the underhood fuse block.

Could Splice Off Of The Yellow Ignition wire

THANKS... I will look at the fuses that should work. If not I will look for an ignition wire to splice.
